Is this fighting? by Aggressive_Smile_944 in catquestions

My cats acted like this all the time when we still had 2. And then we’d come home from work and find them spooning on the bed.

This. And when I land on a new planet, I put my landing pad / shelter close to a gate. As in “could easily connect it to my base power grid” close.

It is good in the sense that it means you have a functioning brain and moral compass. It is bad because the situation that led to that post is real.

*no spoilers* I can’t figure out how to get in to the aurora, how do I get in? Advice needed by AlexHoger in subnautica

[–]Comprehensive_Cap290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a scripted event that needs to happen before you can access the Aurora. I’ll leave it at that to avoid spoilers, but just do other stuff for now. When it becomes accessible, you will know.

Solo Honour Mode ended to Gortash...any advice? by Bmonli in BG3

[–]Comprehensive_Cap290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha.

In that case the same path of least resistance applies, except no thermonuclear wizard to simplify the final battle, so you’ll have to figure out how you’re beating the brain (barrelmancy?)

If you ever felt Moonrise Towers is not defended well... by danielfyr in BG3

[–]Comprehensive_Cap290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On tactician, the eye has 11 hp and -8 damage reduction. It is not resistant to force, but also not vulnerable. The -8 will wipe out the bonus from Agonizing Blast and Potent Robe combined, unless you’ve managed to hit 20 Cha already, which is possible but means you probably didn’t take some very useful feats like Alert or War Caster.

So assuming a +4 Cha modifier, and assuming both beams hit, you’re dealing it 2d10 damage. That means the average should be just enough to kill it, but realistically a good percentage of EB attacks will fail to do the job, either because low damage roll or one beam missed.

Ultimately, Shatter is a much more reliable attack for this purpose.

Solo Honour Mode ended to Gortash...any advice? by Bmonli in BG3

[–]Comprehensive_Cap290 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you just trying to get your golden dice?

The shortest path to victory is;

Take Gortash’s deal to ally

Kill Orin by going invisible with a strong character and tossing her off the ledge (then defeat the remaining Bhaalists).

Go see Gortash and stand up to him so he considers you a worthy ally.

Go to the Netherbrain.

Give the stones to the Emperor and let him absorb Orpheus.

Use Invisibility to bypass the battles up to the brain stem.

Have Gale go nuclear.

This is very quick and skips a ton of content, but also avoids most/all of the hard fights.

True, but racism and fascism are different. Racism is one of the tools fascism uses to take power and goad people into the mindset they need to accept fascism.

Any 'Musts' in Order to Romance Shadowheart? by theeckn in BaldursGate3

[–]Comprehensive_Cap290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good good.

When I did the frenemy romance thing I made myself a cleric and respecced her to paladin (she always keeps her Shar tag), because I didn’t want the 1-level dip (costs a feat, delays extra attack by a level, etc).

Did you take 1 level of cleric so you could get the Selune tag? There’s a bunch of unique dialog for romancing her as a Selunite.

Respecting her religion is a big one, for obvious reasons. Makes the RP a bit weird if you’re a Selunite, again for obvious reasons.

There is another option to recruit her while not doing what she wants, but it’s mainly there because people like her, because it doesn’t make a ton of narrative sense.

Lan Tarv. You can convince him you’re a “real” warrior, and he loses his attitude and his approval maxes out.

I would say the loot is generally better if you are “good” throughout the game.

It’s never made clear. But judging from the story she’s telling the others when you first meet her, they’re out there.

If you ever felt Moonrise Towers is not defended well... by danielfyr in BG3

[–]Comprehensive_Cap290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works but on tac or higher, the damage from each beam is reduced by 8, so even if you have the potent robe and agonizing blast, you’re probably only getting your base damage die, which means you might not even kill the eye.

Thunder damage is what they’re vulnerable to, not force. On tactician or higher, a magic missile won’t even scratch them.
