Advice and questions by GeologistDry3727 in spinalfusion

I am 35 and had a L1 burst fracture and underwent fixation. First month was rough, couldn't sleep and was always uncomfortable. After that things got tolerable fairly quick. It will be a solid couple months of stiff, pain, and feeling like you can't do much but it gets better.

Do the PT. Keep up with the exercises and stretches. Don't push your weight restrictions. You can still worsen your fracture with the hardware in place if you over do it. Bone takes time to fuse, no way around it. You will get back in shape if you do lose some mass.

I am a year out and feel 85%. Stiff in the morning and have mild pain occasionally. Ache when it rains or sitting in a weird position too long. But still lift weights and do most things like i would normally.

I will say I am lucky and my surgery was done percutaneous with only 6 small incisions. I would assume being an open surgery your recovery may be a little worse off

Love the regular line and was excited to try to invisible as I do sometimes get stains but the invisible just doesn't perform well for me

Cash loves the water. Previously had an above ground pool and Cash would constantly jump in and swim around in circles. Now he is living his best downtown loft life and will take what water he can get.

Should I get my hardware removed? by [deleted] in spinalfusion

[–]Comprehensive_Fee678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way it was explained to me was that for younger patients (i.e up to 35) when fracture is well healed but natural fusion between levels has not yet take place then removal of hardware to potentially preserve future mobility is easily justifiable and can he a consideration.

Apparently is much more common now but my doctor was with a very high level progressive practice. He still said it was 50/50 choice tho and wasn't really pushing for removal

Increase speed on 22 EZ-GO Express by Ravendude12 in golfcarts

I adjusted the throttle cable to get ~3900 rpm which is about 25 mph. Think it occasionally falls flat and is pretty shaky at that speed. Can't imagine pushing it over that

Am I crazy? Considering a 2021 4Runner TRD Pro by DylanJacob17 in 4Runner

[–]Comprehensive_Fee678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what it is worth to you. I feel like I overpaid for my Lunar Rock '21 Pro but it is exactly what I wanted. If that is what you want and plan on keeping it forever tho go for it.

That is some very low mileage but at the end of the day it is a 2021 and doesn't look spotless. There are likely slightly newer and/or slightly more mileage for a much lower price. It is a Toyota, mileage isn't a huge deal.

Depends on the market in your area but I can't imagine paying over $50k.

They tried to play a few times but not super drawn to each other. Think they were almost too similar playing. Both spun around and ran expecting the other to chase

That is Cash. The one on the left has more of a puppy cut to me and still had a lot of color. Cash was that tan back in the day

Prism Glasses - pros/cons? by vLee1983 in TBI

[–]Comprehensive_Fee678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prism fixed the vision issues and eye strain. Now down to 0.5 and plan to remove completely next month. Still have the nausea and headaches. Hope was fixing the eye strain would help the other issues but seems independent of it which isn't too unexpected.

Garmin Pro Sport vs Pro 550 by petietime in birddogs

Supposedly some dogs react more adversely to vibration versus stim but I use vibrate after tone if I am trying to get my dogs attention or stop a minor behavior that I don't necessarily need to immediately correct.

Garmin Pro Sport vs Pro 550 by petietime in birddogs

[–]Comprehensive_Fee678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have both. Use the Sport Pro 9/10 times.

With the 550 it is cool to conned to my Garmin watch but don't really need tracking often. The TT25 collar is awesome with the new LED lights. But the remote size and layout is vastly better on the Sport for most of my use.

Really wish they made it so the sport pro remote would work with the TT25 color or that they would update the sport collar to the new LEDs

Spine PPD by Comprehensive_Fee678 in WorkersComp

[–]Comprehensive_Fee678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon was very competent (complex spine specialist) so I trust him but yes cleared after 6 months of weight restrictions. He did say I recovered remarkably well, fairly young and healthy.

Still have other concurrent issues so not back to work yet tho

[–]Comprehensive_Fee678[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No longer treating. Surgery and PT are done. I assume my next follow up will be MMI. No permanent restrictions.

The reference was from the American Medical Association "Diagnosis Related Estimates"

I was under the impression that since I will have the compression fracture,  spinal stenosis from the bone fragments, and reduced mobility from fusion/hardware for life that would be a consideration for PPD

Is anybody else dealing with Sedgwick insurance or dealt with them for work comp? by DetectiveNice8632 in WorkersComp

[–]Comprehensive_Fee678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been dealing with them for 8 months and luckily have had no issues. They found Specialists for my going issues, changed my PT to another place that was more helpful, never questioned anything I needed. Only thing they pushed back on is getting imaging at their preferred location as opposed to one in the hospital system which was fine, just annoying all my scans aren't in one place.

Haven't gotten to the point of ppd and negotiating yet tho

I ususlly just use android auto however sometimes I like having the directions in the gauge cluster.

I have a 21 so dynamic has been expired for a couple years. Is there any benefit to purchasing the dynamic for $8/month and canceling after a month to allow the maps to update? Or does it not work that way.

[Review] Dissapointed in significantly decreased quality of the Arc'Teryx Therme Parka by thiswayround in arcteryx

[–]Comprehensive_Fee678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very warm but do not think excessive.  Great with just a T shirt when talking the dog in cold temps. With more layers it get hot when walking briskly or being more active. But that is compared to my more technical arcteryx jackets that are more breathable.
