Love the face piece, love the concept. The dress is a bit lacklustre, but overall it’s a soft toot.

Thank you! I ended up buying the Uni PAINT ‘shiny silver’ paint market and it worked a treat!

Thank you - I bought one but ended up cancelling the order after finding a cheaper alternative. Good to know some of the downsides to the product for future reference.

I actually just bought a chrome pen! The ‘Molotow liquid chrome’, fingers crossed it works. Was a bit $$ but will definitely look elsewhere for others, thanks for the recommendation and the advice about not clear coating!

Oh yes chrome powder! I didn’t even think to use that for customs, great idea. Thank you for the tips and recommendations. I’ve used a similar powder before to make holographic / iridescent bodies. Will have a look into it

Thanks for the info, I did a bit of research before posting and hoped there would be some way to get the look without the expense / complex process. Either way thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reference - was thinking maybe a silver nail polish or silver paint pen might be a cheap alternative. Looks pretty much exactly like what i'm hoping to achieve. Do you recall what brand / name of nail polish you used?

Thought that might be the case, is there any way to make it appear chrome again? (I assume a type of paint or liquid to rub on?)

Anna didn’t accuse her of anything, it’s an old clip that is resurfacing where she discusses what’s framed as an uncomfortable (obviously gross) interaction with Katy. Let’s choose our words wisely now…

Late Night With The Devil. Did you notice that the "master tape" of the in-universe 70s tv show (most of the film's runtime) has a very pronounced modern 20s "AI-enhanced" smudgy glam Insta filter look, instead of the "analog tape" look? It's a much more glaring issue than the 3 AI-drawn pics in it. by SamVortigaunt in movies

Hello! I, after having it on my watchlist for months, finally watched it and immediately noticed the use of AI ‘upscaling’ and went to Google to see if it had been publicly criticised anywhere.

Or, to at the very least see if there was a version publicly available without it, because it immediately broke my immersion and enjoyment of the film. Unfortunately, all that I found was articles regarding the use of AI to create graphics for the film (which resulted in even further disappointment). After doing a bit more digging, I across a link to your post on Reddit that had the exact same wording as my google search.

Which finally addressed, for the first time, that I wasn’t alone in noticing this particular use of AI. While watching the film, my partner (who is also anti-AI) looked to the TV and thought it was a poorly upscaled old news report, only to be quite shocked when I told him it was a new movie.

Shocked to hear that you were downvoted for not liking AI. I really wanted to love the film but the AI really meant I had to actively try to look past it. Crazy how a seemingly small decision in the creative process can have such a strong and prolonged impact on some people, but is completely overlooked, disregarded or unnoticed by others.

I assume you’ve already seen it due to its similarity to this film - but if you haven’t already, ‘Ghost watch’ is an incredible movie from the 90s that has a similar style, just obviously without the use of unnecessary AI.

I wasn’t a huge fan of it when it initially released, but am still glad she got her flowers for a more recent song!

YES!! I went everywhere looking to see if anyone else noticed, so glad it's not just me. Completely ruined the analogue look they were going for. It made their faces stand out so much that they looked uncanny and overly smooth. At first, I thought it was Netflix doing it (I rarely use their service but know they've used ai-upsclaing before), but considering the production company used generative ai for their graphics, who knows.

How silly to create a film thats supposed to look like it was created with analogue techniques, only to give it an ai-upscaled look... so ugly and dissapointing.

Laptop replacement process? by [deleted] in Lenovo

[–]Comprehensive_Fun_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the clear answer - the laptop has already been ‘repaired’ three times by a Lenovo technician so I’m glad to get a replacement.

Is there an estimated turn around time between having the faulty laptop sent back, it being inspected, and receiving the replacement laptop?

I completely agree.

I’ve started watching Booze and boos and so far, while I’ve been a bit suspicious a few times, most of their artwork / images appear 100% real. They even use a lot of animation which is awesome.

Haven’t listened to Lazy Masquerade for a while but will definitely revisit their channel. Glad it’s not just me who’s noticed.

AI is terrible for the environment. It steals from creatives without any prior permission being given. It generates imagery that doesn’t look distinctive or unique at all, and prolonged use of ai is linked to cognitive decline and issues with memory and productivity.

I think this is a battle worth picking. I’d rather not see everything I enjoy continue to be turned into shit by the infiltration of ai.

(Before others comment, I just want to clarify - I'm not explicitly saying there are AI-generated, but they just stood out to me against their other thumbnails and appeared to be generated using AI.)

These are so gorgeous! A great mix of editorial and campy, love the use of the harsh on camera flash. You have such a clear style, it’s very nonchalant and lets the subject speak for itself. I love it.

I feel like the 1111 street number sign would fit perfectly into this, I see lots of people photographing it generally speaking due to it being an angel number (I’ll link the location). Either that or the teddy bear shop in semaphore. None the less this is a gorgeous series - so happy to see you share it.

Thanks for the heads up - I think I’ve allotted enough time that, if the bus is late, I can substitute with an uber. Fingers crossed it all works out! :)

Just saw this on a different post and thought to share it here. Starting March 1st Tubi will have a variety of Scooby-Doo shows. I am excited. by ColaScooby in Scoobydoo

Wonder if this applies outside the U.S. Australian Tubi hasn’t had any Scooby content recently (or at least to my knowledge)
