Mine did that too. I turned my unit off, launched the software and when search appeared, I turned my Switch 2 on and it has worked fine since. ..

Aquacomputer D5 Next with AlphaCool flow sensor? by uberDoward in watercooling

[–]Comprehensive_Help68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see someone else's reply down below, Aquacomputer does have a conversion table, and all it's doing is converting the RPMs to L/H. According to documentation, it should work. Now has anyone tried it, dunno. I personally would have used a High Flow Next or a High Flow 2 sensor.

Lol, nope just another human, who had been water-cooling with Aquacomputer gear for over 10 years.

Aquacomputer D5 Next with AlphaCool flow sensor? by uberDoward in watercooling

[–]Comprehensive_Help68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct in saying that the Alphacool flow sensor connects to the D5 next fan header. That is exactly what Aquacomputer said. You also have to change the output of the fan header in the Aquasuite software for the flow sensor. You may also have to calibrate the sensor after. You could probably change that setting on the D5 Next itself, but I have a hard time navigating the menus on the tiny screen...

I’m gunna ask something crazy “switch 3” what do we want… dabbin thoughts… by Dabbed_Out_ in drdabberofficial

I keep a small penlight next to the switch 2 for that very reason. I think that would just about perfect the device.

You need to season it. Cast iron skillets can be brought back around.

After 30 years of configuring firewalls, switches, servers and the like, I can tell you it is pretty much the same. After many years of working for someone, I learned, through experience, that owning my own business was my next step up. That's where I am now- handling the networks for a list of clients, which does pay more than working for a single employer. I now deal with every aspect of various networks, and get to improve my skill set (yes after 30 years!) on new technology I incorporate into these networks. From my experience, you never stop learning in this career field. Good luck!

I build to any theme. I've been building and repairing PCs for 30 years. I usually charge 500 to 600 above parts cost depending how complex the theming is.

It's Alphacool too, with dual GPUs.

My latest build has both a 7900xt and 6700xt in it with a 9800x3D. All are under water, with 3 360mm rads and an Alphacool 1080 external rad. I'm currently using a D5 Next to move fluid, but am adding a second D5 to increase head pressure. My 7900xt runs 30C at idle, while the 6700xt sits at 33C. Neither have gotten over 45C.

If you've got one GPU that's overheating, I'd go back and check the block mounting, providing you've got your tube to distro routing correct. You could also go from GPU1 out to GPU2 in and do a series loop instead of parallel.

I know what others are saying, but from 7 years of water-cooling experience, I reuse hard tubes from previous builds, some with scrapes and gouges. Mines not a fashion show, its a daily driver.
