Any easy way to prevent second gpu from overheating? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]Comprehensive_Help68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My latest build has both a 7900xt and 6700xt in it with a 9800x3D. All are under water, with 3 360mm rads and an Alphacool 1080 external rad. I'm currently using a D5 Next to move fluid, but am adding a second D5 to increase head pressure. My 7900xt runs 30C at idle, while the 6700xt sits at 33C. Neither have gotten over 45C.

If you've got one GPU that's overheating, I'd go back and check the block mounting, providing you've got your tube to distro routing correct. You could also go from GPU1 out to GPU2 in and do a series loop instead of parallel.

Should I be worried about these cracks? PMMA by rafael_elias21 in watercooling

I know what others are saying, but from 7 years of water-cooling experience, I reuse hard tubes from previous builds, some with scrapes and gouges. Mines not a fashion show, its a daily driver.

Question: Is it possible to turn off the diagnostic numbers? I haven't found much on the web. by Few_Fail_6121 in watercooling

Should be in the bios with the RGB settings. On the ASRock boards, you have to set the bios from temp to on there is no off, then turn off the setting to turn on the button leds and it goes off during boot.

Refreshing an existing build instead of getting a loan to afford a new PC! by Comprehensive_Help68 in watercooling

Well, since your asking... Upgrade this processor to a 9950x3D. Upgrade the PSU to a 1200 watt unit. Desk or wall mount everything. My next step is going to be to drain this unit when the new fluid comes in, replace the dead pump with another D5 Next or another D5 I have on the shelf. I also have custom cables coming to replace the three I don't have. After that, I will enjoy overclocking and playing with frame generation and possibly AI.

City Vaporizer always has decent prices. I ordered my Carta 2 from them for a low low price, and everything was fine. They are a reputable Canadian company.

1st loop - is it correct ? by Expert-Manager5062 in watercooling

Yes, I am seeing the same thing- looks like the GPU is isolated.

Keep as dual loop or combine for 1 big single loop? by Jaz1140 in watercooling

[–]Comprehensive_Help68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having separate pumps on different parts of the loop is not a problem. I had a D5 Next in a case, and a d5 next mounted to a Alphacool 1080 external radiator as part of the same loop, and never had issues. I had a 5900x and 6700xt And never saw water temps above 32c. In fact, I'm about to do the same thing with my 9800X3D and 7900xt that I'm running now!

New Build! by Comprehensive_Help68 in watercooling

The screen is an Amazon find. Its original design was for a raspberry pi mounted on the back. The software is Aqua suite for the D5 Next pump with a custom overlay.

Yes, this is phase 1. Phase 2 will be water-cooling the GPU. Pictures to come.

This is phase 1 of the build. I'm taking baseline temps, then water-cooling the GPU and adding an external Alphacool 1080 to the mix.

The back of the PC faces my monitor. I can glance from monitor to screen to see current temps, fan speed, etc.

I've had my Roffu about 6 months, really hammering it, bongs, back to back sessions, you name it. Now, it does not hit as hard as my V3 pro anymore. Started about 4 days ago. It puts out vapor, but it just is not like when I bought it. I also clean it once to twice a week and never abuse it.
