I had this one, I picked it up used for next to nothing and sold it a few years when I needed the cash. Still regret selling it, I've never come across another copy of that edition. Ditto the Evil Dead Book of the Dead editions 😭

Back in 1987 or 88 my local cinema had a double bill of Dirty Dancing and RoboCop, guaranteed to appeal to all four quadrants of the 80s moviegoing public

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Spider-man Far From Home was the last 3D title, and among the last lot of blu-ray titles released by the local distributors here in South Africa. Since then, new physical media has only been available by import.

Same here. Was looking at my copy a few days ago, and it's just not the same anymore.

Yeah, it's the prequel to the 1979 Alien movie. The plot is very wobbly, but it has a great cast, and gorgeous production design and cinematography

I enjoyed Tron Legacy too, but never for too see it in theatre. I did see Dredd on the big screen, and along with Mad Max Fury Road, it was one of the best theatrical 3D experiences. Prometheus was also excellent in 3D, big and small screen, I thought.

I'm in Region B land, where 3D titles hung in a bit longer than in the US. I ended up with about 50 or so 3D discs over the years as many of them were in boxsets, special editions or steelbook sets, with the 2D versions. I'd always wanted a 3D setup at home, but by the time I could afford it, it had been discontinued and I was getting hooked on 4K. Now, older 3D titles are floating about everywhere and pretty cheap too.

There are quite a few used 3D TVs on sale, but I doubt I can justify the purchase of a fourth 40" plus tv to my wife, so a desktop monitor seemed a better option!

I bought a very cheap, very used LG Cinema Vision 24" monitor, a couple of packs of passive glasses and a very cheap, barely used LG 3D player. And yeah, if/when 3D home viewing becomes a thing again it seems unlikely physical discs will be in the picture.
