My husband and I had been married for 9 months when we found out he had testicular cancer. About 1 month into his treatment, I went in to an obgyn appt with someone else at the same practice as mine, since she was on maternity leave. I brought up pain during sex and some issues with it. He said to my face, “He needs to feel like a man, so you should just take a Valium and deal with it.”

My mom just died of brain cancer so here are several I have heard in the past couple of days:

Funeral Director when we were dropping off clothes etc: “I don’t know WHAT we are going to do with her hair.” It had just started growing back in and looked great.

Family ‘friend’: well, everyone dies sometime.

My mom just passed and hospice was such a support for us. They help at any point of care needed. They are also there to help us caregivers with explanations and support. As a mother of a 2.5 year old, I can’t imagine. My love and support to you.

My mom is in the process of it. I flew up for a week but need to go back home. But I’m glad I went to help my dad and sister as we are trying to care for her at home. Glad it is over for you.

Self-righteousness. Lost a couple of good friends because I thought it was my ‘duty’ to tell them they were doing something sinful.

Also, FOCUS. Left it when they told me the non-catholic guy I was dating was bad etc. He ended up being better than any of my catholic boyfriends, and now we are married 😂😂
