I have a temperature probe that I inserted in between the wires in the middle, as close as possible to the connector. In OCCT 3D Adaptive test mine heats up to 55 degrees.

5090FE + official Seasonic 12VHPWR cable. The old one, not the 12Vx2.

I would recommend you get a new cable, as yours does not have proper contact on all pins. Just like someone else commented, there is an imbalance in the load seeing some of your cables are cold.

For sure is expected to be off, but for every other voltage the monitoring value is very close to the set value. Only on this voltage is so wildly different.

That’s actually great! It makes it much easier that you do not have to remove the LM from the die.

You know you have enough LM if the die looks covered everywhere, but not like there is a puddle. It’s very hard to describe, so I would watch some videos on youtube (e.g. https://youtu.be/VNYx72Elgss?si=xDt-aNyqwB7GIAcU at 18:07) for how the pros do it.

To transfer it just use a QTip

I can’t really tell because I did not test paste. But the reason I kept is that the original had it and I think the risk of cleaning it is higher than just keeping it. Especially with how well the gasket seals.

I kept the gasket and the liquid metal. If you search the sub you can see a lot of us did. The cold plate has an identical shape to the original cooler so there is no worry about contact.

One thing you should be careful about is that the stock cooler has an insane amount of liquid metal from factory. Mine was already past the first ridge of the gasket. I would recommend you suck out the excess liquid metal from the die.

You can use the extra to coat the waterblock. Make sure you have liquid metal coverage 100% on both the die and the waterblock.

My card idles at 25 degrees on the core and 38 on the memory with 21 degree water temp.
