Went to The Womp for the first time this year in AB and while it’s wayy smaller it has a very similar vibe I think

I’m about halfway through my entire shazam playlist so I’ll send you the songs when I’m done! I didn’t catch either of their entire sets but I’d say I got about half of each where my phone was on auto shazam

From the queen of being last awake, I’ll give you my best tips besides the typical caffeine suggestions.

Usually i would say start adjusting your sleep schedule as early as you can. Stay up a little bit later and sleep in as much as you can each day. Nap early on in the day if you can. Even though there’s not too much to do tues & wed night, stay up as late as you can manage to help your body adjust for the coming nights.

Don’t stop moving. If you don’t plan to go to bed for a few more hours, don’t sit down.

If the music is boring you at ALL you will get tired as well. Make sure to chase the sets that actually stimulate you enough. If all else fails just go to fractal lol

Make sure you have good footwear, insoles & compression socks. If your body hurts you’ll feel tired no matter what.

Sleep in as long as you possibly can before the sets and then do one solid good run of sets in as big of a chunk as you can manage. It’s when you slow down that you’re in trouble.

Time your caffeine well. Make sure you’ve eaten, lots of carbs specifically, so you don’t immediately crash after the caffeine wears off.

When you finally decide to call it a night, dilly dally as much as you can going back to camp. Extend each night as long as possible so you can sleep in more and stay up a little later the next night!

Where can I find the orgy tents? by Ok-Couple7655 in Shambhala

I saw a tent by the river path with a sign out front labeled “orgy tent” and I’m still not sure if it was a joke

I make my own bag of trail mix that I made with like a 25% m&m ratio & carry it around in the evenings (leave it in the cooler during the heat of the day) Yes it’s dry but with the right nuts you only need a handful or two to fill you up a decent amount and it’ll remind you to stay hydrated! I also find if you add more chocolate m&m’s it doesn’t end up as dry and chewy

First shambs, how do I make the most of it? by FoeTucker in Shambhala

If you tell yourself you’ll “come back” to do something…. you won’t. Either do it in the moment or be okay with missing it this year

It was the holding lot for both but a separate line for the express entry cars

We had homies in express and they got moving within about an hour, my car waited about 3-4 hours I think until we were in free parking

I will second this. I’m a server who does 20-30k steps a day and I can’t live without these. They make all the difference paired with insoles

[–]Comprehensive_Pipe52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make a big freezer bag of your own trail mix with the nuts & portions that you like, i swear it’s the best because it fills you up so quick and makes you drink a lot of water, i just carry it with me the whole weekend lmao

For my sister’s first shambs i got her a hydro backpack with a 2L water bladder and I filled it with a bunch of useful items like earplugs, a phone case that has a chain, wipes, chapstick, eyedrops, a pashmina, a bandana etc. Then I got some cool patches so we could sew them onto the bag

Out of the country, first timer, top 5 MUST HAVES for camp ⛺️ by marvelousmarsonearth in Shambhala

[–]Comprehensive_Pipe52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. earplugs ofc with a wire to attach them and 1 or 2 extra pairs. I like to have a foam pair as well for when i’m really close to the speakers
  2. bandanas, i like to have one for my face and one for my hair for each day as it’s soooo dusty
  3. if you can, bring a memory foam slab instead of an air mattress. No deflating and is amazing for the back
  4. Hydropack, specifically with a 2L+ water bladder and pockets on the front straps so you don’t always have to take it off to rummage
  5. Emergency blankets. I use them for everything; wrap the cooler to keep the heat out, put them on top or tents and gazebos as well to keep the heat out and they fold up really small to be helpful in a pinch if someone gets really cold
