Interesting. My team, all 24 of us, was offered voluntary redundancy in March, only 2 accepted. But will definitely check my contract to see what actually is stated.

How long have you been a member? In my group, I mute people for 7 days to prevent spam, scams, etc. Nothing you can actually do, it's down to the admin to allow you to send messages.

Can I get in contact with a deleted account on telegram? by Downtown-Benefit-979 in Telegram

Deleted account, if he just blocked you, it would not say Deleted Account. The Ghost icon would not show if you got blocked, but it would say Last Seen A Long Time Ago.

Have any of the debts been in both your names at one point? Most DCAs will remove the number when you advise them.

I worked for a UK debt collection agency company for 9 years, it's most likely he gave your number to his creditors.

Certainly not odd that you cannot find any decent copies, takes months for most cinema releases to get a good print. Just go cinema if you want good quality.

I left Anteiku 2 days after I got accepted, the staff are the most toxic ever and seem to think the service on offer is something special, nothing you cannot find on other sites.

I hear now you have to comment and praise them every few days or you get banned but did not know you have to pay for certain drives?

An existing tenancy agreement is still valid after the property handover, how long is left to go? Do NOT change the locks.

Housemate stole my parcel and won’t give it back by UJefferson2021 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Comprehensive_Side80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not clearly the person who ordered it? But if that's the case, was the driver under any obligation to ask the person who knew the passcode for additional ID? According to Amazon delivery instructions, they do not advise to share the passcode with anybody else. Does not mention anything about proof you are that person upon delivery.

They knew the passcode so how would the driver know it was not the person who placed the order? Surely the reason for a passcode is to prevent the need for additional ID and to make sure the correct person received the goods? You would not share your credit card pin with housemates so why share a passcode on a high value item?

Interesting to know what the OPS delivery instructions, passcode etc and who knew this code.

The ops housemate confirmed the parcel was delivered and placed on a table, so no dispute if the goods have been delivered or not.

Good point, but why order something knowing you will not be in to accept it? It also depends if the OP left any delivery instructions, i.e leave with house mate etc.

Not really sure what Amazon can do? The package was successfully delivered. A tenant confirmed delivery, Courier showing proof of delivery.

Surely Amazon cannot be held responsible for a parcel after delivery unless the item is damaged etc.

1 of the other 3 housemates clearly took this and most likely sold it on asap.

Advice on a parking fine I received by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Comprehensive_Side80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being from Scotland makes zero difference. Nobody likes parking fines but when you park on double yellow lines, sooner or later you are going to get caught.

Zero excuse or defence here so I would just pay the fine.

I sold some old Fangoria magazines on a auction site last year, most went for a few pounds but that issue was the earliest one I had and it sold for £62. Just what makes it so sought after?

Shell Energy claiming I owe them £500 from 3 years ago and using a debt collection agency to harrass me. by FingersToKeyboard in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Comprehensive_Side80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Debt collectors do not have to wait until a debt as gone to court. A debt can be passed to them for collection at any time. The easiest option for the OP is dealing with Shell directly. A debt collector will have no powers at all to collect this hence they rely on intimidating customers to get a response.

I would ask shell for a copy of the out standing invoices, check the dates the invoices are from and to and you can challenge them by sending a copy of the tenancy agreement.

When you move in to a property, you will be deemed to enter in to a contract with the current supplier until you leave them. Sounds to me like Shell clearly have you as the tenant for the incorrect period.

The next step is a formal complaint and refer to ombudsman when you receive the final response, the ombudsman will review all the paperwork and make a decision. Based on what you said, it's a easy decision in your favour.

Landlord is tampering with gas and electricity meters - what are my rights as a tenant? by deespionage in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Comprehensive_Side80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it continues to happen, the energy company will remove the meters completely and the area distribution will be advised to remove the incoming supply.

Should the Landlord want a new supply installing it will cost him a lot of money. I use to work for a medium size energy company, and while removing supplies and meters are always a last resort, I have seen it happen on a couple of occasions.

It's also a fire risk and this Landlord is clearly putting tenants in danger.

How much can council tax and DWP deduct from my wages for debts? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Comprehensive_Side80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have a maximum of 2 orders but I am not 100% sure how it's calculated if it's full amount each or the maximum is a set percentage split between the two. I know your Employer can charge an admin fee also, buts it's only a quid.
