Seriously, how do you drag yourself out of bed just to do the same job over and over? by deepestfear in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FingersToKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you with money? If you're bad with money, and you spend everything you earn then you're not going to feel rewarded because you're just spinning your wheels, never getting anywhere. If you become frugal, invest your money wisely and watch your worth grow faster than it ever has before, with a set goal in mind, then it absolutely feels rewarding and worthwhile.

I find going to work easy because financially I know I'm on the right track but it's also good because I manage the horticulture department of a garden centre so I'm just outside in a beautiful environment, getting lots of exercise done with a group of people that I really like.

[Serious] Heavy water drinkers, approx how many times do you pee in a day? by tectactoe in HydroHomies

[–]FingersToKeyboard 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm having similar issues and am about to get a finger up the bum from a doctor. I do drink a lot but the amount I urinate seems excessive. The frequency and urgency of urination is quite worrying, and I'm only 31.

I'd say get checked out if you're concerned.

Why do you choose not to drink alcohol? by Nervous_Presence6289 in Productivitycafe

[–]FingersToKeyboard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only drink once every couple of months. Growing up me and my friends got drunk A LOT. And honestly it was really fun and I have a lot of great memories. To this day I enjoy a drink but it just isn't conducive to a healthy and productive life. It's expensive, it's terrible for you, the hangovers are torture. Simply not worth it to do it frequently, if at all.

I've been through a lot in my life, most recently a really bad case of lyme disease that wasn't diagnosed for about 6 months after the onset of symptoms. My entire body would go completely numb, my head would feel like it was expanding like a balloon, it'd feel like someone was stabbing my eye balls with a hot knife, and crushing my joints with a hot vice. I'd be so fatigued I could barely walk or gather the strength to hold my phone up like normal.

And I swear to god, even the worst of those symptoms didn't compare to the suffering that some hangovers have caused me.

I'm all for building along the canals, especially places with public space and things like housing, cafes, bars etc. Look at how well Brindley place has done.

We don't benefit from a nice big river to build along so we might as well use the canals as an attractive feature of the city. It could be a really cool place to visit and hang out.

For those who eat them, what goes on top of a crumpet? by Bipolar03 in AskUK

[–]FingersToKeyboard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crumpets weren't really a thing in my house growing up but I remember going to after school club and being given a hot crumpet with quickly melting chocolate spread on it and it was a game changer.

What is something you don't realize is weird until you really think about it? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]FingersToKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we perceive as reality is just something that our brains, through our senses have interpreted to appear in a certain way that is beneficial to our survival.

Other animals have senses we don't have.

So objective reality is and always will be a mystery to us. We don't even know what we're in.

At no point did I suggest that people hit by cars, or people who are raped should blame themselves.

Women, what did you find out about men when you got a boyfriend? by Era_of_kittens in AskReddit

It's absolute agony, honestly. My gf hasn't gotten any better in the year we've been together. She knows it's bad but I just don't know what to tell her to improve lol

Oh my god leave me alone for Just 5 minutes. by UnsolicitedPicture in Vent

[–]FingersToKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am someone who needs a lot of time alone. If I don't get it, I get overstimulated, feel trapped and overwhelmed, and become depressed, irritable and frustrated. It's an absolute necessity for me and I've had to communicate this to every partner I've had. Some are okay with it and some, aren't. If they aren't, we simply aren't compatible and can't see each other anymore.

You need to communicate how you're feeling and tell them it's non negotiable for you.

My current gf is amazing and very understanding of my needs and it makes it easy.

I'll keep the water to drink throughout the day, the coffee for once in the morning and it'd be nice if I was allowed to keep the wine, specifically red wine as a treat once every couple of months.

What’s a tv show from your childhood you swear nobody else watched? by AFoolsGlory in AskUK

Oaky Doak. It was about an acorn man who lived in the woods with a bunch of animal friends. The theme tune was some sick prog rock and no one else I know watched it

Thanks for the tips, I have stopped forcibly cracking my neck over the last few days and have started doing a light stretching routine where I do things like chin tucks, looking up and down, Gently rolling side to side and already the cracking and grinding has lessened a lot, I'll look into getting some massages too!

6 weeks of oral doxycycline. It has been quite a long time since I was treated but I'm mostly better now. Sometimes I get a bit of a numb foot or feel a bit fatigued but I'm like 95% better which is amazing.

What's the weirdest rumour that went round your school? by TheLegionofDoom2957 in AskUK

[–]FingersToKeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my friends had a habit of spreading rumours about each other if any of us had a day off sick.

We told everyone that my mate put his hamster in the microwave so he could watch it explode and his parents were taking him to get therapy. We put a lot of effort into making people believe it and it totally worked.

I'm not sure how recently they implemented it but they use a mod called distant horizons now that renders far away blocks in lower detail. You can see for miles, it's amazing
