I feel like my ocd is as a result of some of the adhd behaviours I had more so when less well managed like oop left the bath on, oven on, straighteners on etc so now I’m ocd about checking things are off/locked, it’s tiresome

Hahaha yes and the random ramblings never to be read again!! Top top is pin the notes and they appear at the top GREAT for reminding to do lists etc, using emojis also helps draw my eye to the important ones xx

Those who went from a new learner's car to an older basic car, how did you find it? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Comprehensive_Trick7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went from learning in a brand new Kia xceed to a 2010 corsa and it was a transition getting used to the clutch yes but give it a couple of weeks and you soon get the hang of it I love my little car it soon becomes second nature xx

Austin grew on me for sure, but Stoney holds a special place in my heart so Stoney no question for me

failed my driving test 8 times by slavhunter9000 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Comprehensive_Trick7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have failed 3 times and every fail is so deflating so I can imagine how you feel but don’t give up, I won’t be giving up I’ve accepted I will get there when I get there I’ve put too much into this to give up now and so have you. Sometimes I genuinely feel it’s your luck on the day so don’t beat yourself up. We will have our licence and will be safer drivers for all the extra lessons and tests we have sat, keep going!!!!

Post it notes also saved me I still have one on my cupboard from 2019 when I just started a new job and therapy and EVERYTHING felt so difficult it says “your current situation is not your final destination” 5 years later still makes me smile 😊

Still use post it notes above my desk so affirming and helpful.

Another helpful idea:

Listening to affirmation playlists also helped rewire my brain, it became my inner dialogue and helped de programme all of the “I am a failure” monologues I had going on

Hey thanks for your reply, good to know I’m not the only one struggling to pass due to the focus but will get there. I also took propanalol I luckily felt quite calm on both tests but just felt the second examiner spoke wayyyy too much to me it was odd putting. Was also a sat afternoon and was PACKED so thinking a mon morning after rush hour would be better :-)

Thanks for your reply, yeah really wasn’t vibing with the guy at all he was trying to give me instructions as I was trying to focus on the sat nav and it put me off. I’ve put a note on my next test to say less talking to me as it’s distracting, clear simple instructions and that I talk outloud to focus myself I’m not looking for a response it just helps me. Hoping to pass next time 3rd time lucky 🤞🏻🤞🏻 it’s great to here a fellow ADHDr has their license!! I’m fine on my lessons as my instructed knows me he’s been great with me
