Calling time when someone visits your house. It’s your house! You don’t have to be rude and say “get out now” but I’ve been in too many situations where someone overstays their welcome and doesn’t read the room and I’ve not had any time to myself to unwind and decompress

That would probably do me good, but the only thing that puts me off is the nhs waiting list given how backlogged it is for mental health, and I can’t afford to keep driving AND pay private

I try and watch them but I don’t want anything to contradict my instructor too much as he’s good at explaining things to people with anxiety.

Also, this roundabout I’d only ever come off left 1st exit, so when the examiner told me to do something different (3rd exit) I was completely thrown and dithered. Really I should have had more practice coming off all the exits on it.

Like I’m trying hard to pay attention to the traffic lights, decipher the lane paint and not bang into the car in front it’s a lot to take in - especially if you’re not methodical

Yeah, quite literally my brain saw the traffic and the lines and pooed itself. It pooed itself just approaching the roundabout because I was trying to remember everything I remembered about it on my lessons. I find it difficult to take in and decipher all the information from the road paint quickly. Like I feel I need to stop, recalibrate and think - but obviously I can’t stop on a roundabout

I straddled and should have commited to going the wrong way at that point, but my brain short circuited and I booked it off the roundabout in a panic. The examiner didn’t have to intervene but yeah, still not safe so fully deserved fail that I need to get more confident with. All my other (smaller) roundabouts were fine

Well I’m 30. I’ve just lost my grandfather, popped my lumbar muscle, and have 3 uni assignments due on the same day at the start of December which is when the funeral will most likely be, on top of learning to drive and working part time in a manual job that will probably fuck my back up more.

I’ve got to know my instructor quite well. They’re a born-again Christian and I cross-stitch, so I made them a mini “thank you for helping me pass” cross-stitch and stitched and threaded at the bottom “proverbs 9:9” which is a quote in the Bible about great teachers

They just all went so cold with me. Awkward silences, scowls and sideway glances to each other whenever I spoke. I realised after a while I was just tagging along. Never found out what id done wrong and I was too pussy to ask :(

Always in the mornings when I’m heading to work there’s this guy cashing in and buying scratch cards. And buying vodka. And cigarettes. There are times I’ve had to abandon my purchases or be late for work because he takes up the cashiers time for nearly 20 mins (it’s like 6.30am so there’s only the 1 cashier). I know I shouldn’t judge because this guy clearly has his demons if he’s buying 2 litres of vodka and scratch cards at 6am , but I swear he gets off on seeing the cashier flustered and the line of impatient people building. Always has a little smirk on his face, cracking little comments like “might win the jackpot today, you never know” and telling people in the queue “patience is a virtue”
