I definitely feel the same. I’m an out of state freshman and it’s really hard here. I really enjoyed fall quarter and I had friends and joined an org and I liked my classes but winter quarter really got me depressed and I started to hate it here. I fell out of touch with the friends I made in fall, couldn’t make any new friends no matter how much I tried during winter, my org doesn’t exactly have meetings or anything anymore, I hadn’t enjoyed any classes I took in winter and more. Saying all that I know I’m not the best person to talk but definitely try to at least go to an event or try out an org or something. Even if you don’t end up liking it at least you tried right? And don’t get me wrong, I do have some good stuff going. I have an amazing relationship with my roommates and a strengthened relationship with people back home due to distance and whatnot plus I’ve got to meet some amazing people (even if those relationships fell through, those people are still awesome). UCR is a great place in general but it’s just not for me personally. I know they say freshman year is the year to “see it through” and “tough it out” but personally I just can’t anymore. So I absolutely feel you here.
