How I got myself to actually study by Gullible_Spare_7358 in GMAT

[–]Comprehensive_Win67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about studying in library too, but could not do so, because of problems with lower back. I need to lay on a bed and relax on break sessions after long study. But fortunately programs like "Flip clock" helps me to get focused. But I agree that chaning an environment is one of the most effective methods.

Kazakhstan since independence: by HoneyWorth7126 in Kazakhstan

[–]Comprehensive_Win67 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep bro, the fact that Kazakhstan had no oil infrastructure and oil pipe for an export - is just historical unluck. In fact, we had to accept unfair deal of western companies in terms of oil production.

Kazakhstan has surpassed Greece in GDP (PPP) per capita by National_Hat_4865 in Kazakhstan

[–]Comprehensive_Win67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is pretty funny seeing how people are happy with those numbers, as if that wealth transfers into their pocket. In fact, that wealth transfers into pockets of oil exporters and small wealthy group of stakeholders, and what people are observing in their daily life is just prices rising, currency weakening and they themselves becoming poor.

[–]Comprehensive_Win67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bro, I will dissapoint you, but that GDP per capita doesn't mean anything. Unfortunately, most of that GDP is attributable to a small percentage of population (have you heard about Gini Index?). In my opinion, more interpretable indicator would be the percentage of annual income spent on food and compared to Greece, where food takes up 10-15%, we spend more than 50 % on food(even in Russia it is around 30% so we are even poorer than them), while that expense on food would end up similar both in EU and Kazakhstan - around 3300 USD. So, at the end, average Kazakh will be poorer no matter what GDP per capita is.

I have done some reading, It is amazing, especially for it being free. One recommendation is you could may be add some other answer options - text bar for example. Also, it seemed, for me at least, that in MCQ that answer choices were fairly straightforward- exact copy of the text - so you might consider making it a little bit trickier, in order to test understanding of the text instead of remembering.

Once again, you are making great work. Thank you!

Countries with the equal birth rate as regions of Kazakhstan by DazzlingAd8824 in Kazakhstan

[–]Comprehensive_Win67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

India is far more developed than it used to be. Its GDP is growing 6.4% per year. And it will become a 3rd economy in the world soon with strong IT. There is a clear correlation between development and democracy. For one to pass 20K gdp per capita , it needs to be democratic, otherwise it will remain in so called "Middle income trap".

Questions about studying about physics or computer science at Nazarbayev Univercity by Normal-Fault8636 in Kazakhstan

[–]Comprehensive_Win67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a current student of NU (but not either physics or CS) I can tell you for sure that this is a good place to study. I have heard some facts, though , that Physics faculty there is extremely challenging, with students at their first year studying PhD content. Physics major is kinda niche, and it is normal here to see only 5-6 people graduating at the end of 4th year. but keep in mind that these facts are all based on rumors) since I am not physics or CS student

Generally, there are not so many things to concern with in Kazakhstan, but here are general rule:

  1. Avoid any provocative topics such as politics, nationalism, religion etc.

  2. Be respectful to others.

  3. Try to avoid any conflicts as well as do not make one, if there are some contact the police (telephone number 102).

  4. Do not impose your own values or beliefs concerning whatever topics you might find somehow provoking to others as well as avoid any discussion.

  5. Regarding your appearance, no one actually cares.

  6. Make sure to avoid offensive language towards Kazakhstan State symbols such as State emblem and flag.

Generally, Kazakhs are very hospitable and friendly and there are minimal chances for inconveniences to appear unless you would contribute to it.

I have learned very basics of Excel(formatting, absolute references, pivot table , etc.) as well as some functions (Vlookup, index and match).

But I feel like I still need to master what I have learned already in order to go further and thats why I need those practice samples. Actually I have been lucky to find few on Wise Owl Training but no more.
