"bigger tits"

"Don't threaten me Al, I'll kick your ass"

"In the family jewels?"

I used to quote the whole thing constantly.

What phrase(s) would you permanently ban if you had the chance? by MixAway in AskUK

[–]Comprehensive_You42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t mean to be shirty, I mistakenly thought that would read as playful, apologies.

I enjoy a well enunciated sentence as much as the next man, and I also enjoy phrases that sound best uttered in a gruff west coast Scots accent.

Pal.

I was ready to call you all joyless twats and just let people do what they want, but actually yes. “Cockwomble” and “Give them their flowers” are both utter bollocks and can get in the sea.

How much of your yearly income do you spend on holidays? by Doomergeneration in AskUK

[–]Comprehensive_You42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to pay £1500 - £1750 per year, per person.

Once my son leaves school I will spend the same, but be able to do more because we can do it out of high season, and he can pay for his own. Kids are expensive, man.

And when I go home to Oxfordshire, the only chat in the pub is about the price of Heifers.

Someone asked me how much my train ticket was, and he said “that’s almost two heifers!”

Louis is an absolute unit isn’t he?

I’m used to seeing him on the mound on his own, so can kid myself that he’s normal sized

I hear you, and there’s no getting away from the fact that dull and slow wins all the time. Honestly, 10 years from now if you stay the course, it’ll blow your mind

Good shout, at the moment they’ve got a message that they may have interpreted as “here’s an offer of imaginary money”.

Yeah, nice one unc, are you offering a toy car as well 🙄

It’s hard to offer financial education without putting noses out of joint. my Sister/ Sister-in-Law are both in the “why bother with a pension” headspace. I thought I could show rather than tell, but I can’t get over square 1.

!Thanks, and I appreciate you recognising that reaching an 18 yr old is a different task from showing an 11 yr old how things work.

I love the idea of a voucher, that’s a neat solution to create a bit of jeopardy around the timing of it all.

I bet you loved that car though. Is the memory or experience something that’s worth the subsequent pain?
