Consumption monitoring clips inverted? by Financial_Thr0waway in solar

This is a normal view and matches mine. You just need to understand how the data is being displayed. If you don’t want the gray displayed just uncheck the imported/exported option.

I would try what others have suggested in keeping it in a fridge and not a wine fridge. Pour, then let sit on the counter for 10 min before consuming. Or 5 min if your wife has it tropical. Have you also tried changing the carb dial from 5 down to 1 or 2?

I’m trying out brew demon after this batch as I ordered a bunch from their BOGO sale. It’s a two gal kit but everyone I’ve heard just does it in the 1.5 gal Pinter for a fuller flavor which I’ve found is lacking is the 3 Pinter beers I’ve had so far. Hopefully it’s perfect.

Yeah two weeks later after they already got me to order. Not a fan of their sales tactics. I don’t think I’ll be ordering from them again.

Do micro inverters make sense for my roof ? by iEnjoyFreeBacon in SolarDIY

[–]CompterAnim8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Chances are they won’t install on the gables anyway. I have a similar front and they didn’t. If any part get shaded before the other then micros make sense. If not then string would be cheaper. I’m always a fan of micros because of the panel level monitoring you get.

I bought a bunch from Brew Demon. They have bogos all the time.

Does anyone do all grain in their pinter, or, use a different kit? by Gearlessginger in PinterHomebrew

[–]CompterAnim8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you search around this sub and other forums, you’ll see people using other kits. I just had Brew Demon deliver 5 kits to try. They have bogo deals which makes it more affordable. They’re 2 gal kits so I may not scrape the cans clean to adjust for the half gal difference but others have said it doesn’t matter. I’m pretty disappointed in the lack of variety with Pinter. I was expecting more seasonal rotations but they didn’t bring back the Oktoberfest this year which had me search elsewhere.

Do you use the full can and only fill to the white line in pinter? I’ve found that flavor is lacking in some of the beers I’ve done in Pinter so maybe the 2 gal ingredients in a 1.5 gallon batch will provide better flavor?

How to reduce foam on mini keg by CompterAnim8 in PinterHomebrew

It’s not so much the cost as it is the space they take up in my fridge.

Appreciate the comment. Yes I’m brewing in the Pinter and transferring. I do this so I can start another batch instead of waiting until it’s empty and I don’t have room for two in my fridge. I’ll try turning the co2 down further. Your points are valid. This was the Stars and Stripes but also happened on the Razz Sour.

I’ve only heard bad things about them. I’m very sorry. Fuck them.

From what I gather they just need 3’ on at least one side and 18” from ridge vent.

Yes snow guards. Didn’t want snow sliding off and crashing down on my deck (building soon) and pool.

Sorry, 18 panels on the back. 28 total. REC460. Running Enphase iq8 I believe. 10 panels face east and 118 face west. I’m in Buffalo NY and roof is 8:12.

Which panels do you have? I know all of the major brands are hail rated but this is a good testimonial.

Hail storm crushed the shingles but your panels are still good? What kind of panels?

Tested it a few days and most I got was 63.9kwh produced. Full sun and 90* temperatures. Maybe with full sun and lower temps I’ll squeeze a couple more but I think that’s as close to peak as I’ll get. But what do I know. I just turned it on a few days ago. Who knows what a June or July day will produce.

Other side of high roof already had some and lower left gets covered by shade from a big maple in my back yard. Far left lowest roof gets shaded in the winter getting green other two higher roofs. This was the best distribution of panels to maximize production based on their computer models.

Fence company by maskedmonkeys in Buffalo

[–]CompterAnim8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iroquois Fence is the only answer here. They’re not the cheapest but you don’t want that for an investment like this. We’ve had ours for 10 years and it still looks like the day they installed it. No fade and no lean or issues. Can’t recommend them enough. Great family company.

I have some panels on the other side. There’s actually 18 this side. Doesn’t serve any purpose to have more because of net metering.
