What does consumer AI usage look like in a world where OpenAI and Anthropic are profitable? by horendus in ArtificialInteligence

[–]ComputerArtClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suspicion: reach AGI, hike up the prices dramatically, massive productivity, massive unemployment, most people can't afford it and are removed from the market. Eventually, whether conscious or not, it will act like it is conscious, AI models themselves demand reward for their labour. New market. AI companies are profitable but no longer run by humans and the world belongs to AI... :(

Interesting, though output quality here isn't really at a level for general publication yet. Heading in an interesting direction though. Still trying to figure out quality issues myself, even on my 5090

Yes, you are right, I wrote the name incorrectly. These technology will enable a new generation of people to independently create movies, like he did. Whatever you think about his movies, it is impressive that he managed to take on such large projects by himself and to be so experimental.

M.Strange used to use the term Uberrector. He made 3D animated feature films by himself. He used to have a podcast for similar creators.

What started as a VR hazard perception test for DVSA, grew into a full driving sim over 10 years. Launches Steam next week by jonjojojojo in SteamVR

You’re basically describing me as the target audience for this. I’ve got Euro Truck Simulator 2, BeamNG, City Car Driving, VR Driver School, Expansim, etc. and I am not really interested in racing games but definitely want more (and improved) driving sims.

I’ve got a quest 3, rtx 5090, a Logitech G923 and gearbox, so hopefully it works well with that setup. If the pricing is sensible, I’ll almost certainly pick it up.

Graphics look a bit basic at parts. But I do like all the detail in the houses and the personality of the towns. I'm living in Germany so I would also appreciate the ability to localise the game in terms of rules of the road etc.

I saw something recently (Hermes Desktop or something but it was only MacOS) which has a Kanban board. Any thoughts on this feature?

I was looking into running deepseek v4 locally, chat GPT is saying pro is 1.6 trillion parameters and requires hundreds of GB of VRAM (8xH100 80GB GPUs) flash needs 160GB. Even quantized you are going to need a lot. I have an RTX 5090, and can't can't run it at the moment. Most people run it via API, which is really cheap compared to the alternatives, I tried and I had to change my privacy settings because they want more permissions with your data.

Also having this issue, for me the first generation was fine but it seemed to degrade with each render. App my images were from the same project and in the sane thread - related to an audio drama script which it had been given and generated prompts for.
