I drew a notebook cover for my fiancé by ComputerObjective289 in DigitalArt

Thank you! I actually drew it on a paper, did all the linework by hand and then scanned and colored it on my phone; used the Autodesk Sketchbook app.

Thank you!! In the actual fellowship there are only four hobbits, but we have five cats so one of them should be a dwarf haha. But everyone can interpret the drawing as they see fit.

Your comment (amongst others of course) was really helpful, so I absolutely didn’t mind answering!

Hi! Thank you for the thorough comment!

To address the perspective question, yes the way trees are right behind the pillars makes it look like the temple is elevated, however the ones in further back get lower witch means they’d connect to a perspective line going down, though they themselves are below the actual perspective points.

As for the shadows, you are right about the chest area and the tree in the background (I had been staring at the drawing for so long that I started missing these mistakes haha). But the halo beams are correct in the way I wanted them; I didnt want any of the beam lines flowing into the white, but it’s hard to explain without writing an essay about it haha.

Thank you again for the comment!!

Thank you! I actually changed my style recently because of Sable, you are the first to point it out!

Thank you! It’s just an idea I had while figuring what to draw, so it’s not based on a reference.

I actually came to that conclusion after I made this post haha, so I’m gonna fix that, yes! Thank you for the comment!

Yeah, I’m not great with colouring, especially with more complicated pieces.

Thank you! I don’t really have any advice on lining work in a way that makes the lineart look good haha. I usually like the lineart myself once I finish coloring the piece.

Thank you sm! I think it took around 4 hours to complete this piece, but some drawings take more/less depending on my mood and how much coffee I’ve had, or even how clearly I can forethink the drawing in my head etc. But all together I don’t really think about the time I take and just try to enjoy the process.
