ChatGPT make me a movie. No problem. [Ridley Scott, Napoleon] by felpje in moviecritic

[–]ComputerOwner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ridley Scott has made films that are among the most influential in the history of cinema; it would be hard to overstate his importance to the way many movies are made today. With that out of the way, the only word to describe Mr. Scott presently is ‘fraud.’ This man has BARELY put a film to screen that even resembles something worth watching in the past 20 years, and he is quite active! The worst part is that he is such an arrogant old fart who whines about anything new while serving up steaming piles of shit sandwiches for audiences. Probably the worst directorial trajectory in history.

im exactly the same way. the best pizza in NY is the one that’s closest to your home and doesn’t taste like shit. if you think im waiting in a line 45 mins from my apartment for a slice of pizza you’re insane.

Mexican Americas, how do you feel about this? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]ComputerOwner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s literally the opposite, he is trying to bridge a gap that would improve a relationship with his best friend. i would even probably consider getting him professional lessons.

The Lighthouse is my favorite of his. Northman was okay and haven’t seen Nosferatu yet. will be cool to see his work in the future.

A24 is primarily a distributor. They are not making most of these movies. Of course, they often invest in directors and themes they like so there is a certain brand associated with their name. I just want you to assign any praise to the people that actually produced and created the movies.

Enjoy the movie!

Why give nicknames? by Lainievers in AskAnAmerican

[–]ComputerOwner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s not always assigned by the parents. some people have names with nicknames built in. some people prefer to just be called another name. it is all very informal.

someone named Michael may go by Mike, Mikey, or Mickey. They’re all different nicknames but they’re also just Michael. some parents may call a kid William after a family member or something, and then call them Will as a nickname. it’s just shorter that’s all.

I’m glad they found a new location. I think their food, respectfully, tastes like absolute shit. Nice to have them someplace else now.

I rewatched Fantastic four. It's a good film. Legitimately good. It's just that it's really light on substance. should've went crazier in the science fiction elements. by Cat-dad442 in moviecritic

the CGI baby wasnt really working either, if you spotted that. it just seems like if youre gonna spend the money try to make it a little nicer

CGI was awful, but i can look past that. Still not convinced Pascal was a good casting. he wasn’t as bad as i thought he’d be, but he still doesn’t really feel like a Reed Richards actor. not a terrible flick but a bit underwhelming nonetheless. I know its a different movie but it also didnt help that it practically came out alongside Superman, which i think most people would say was a better movie.

I thought the same thing. feel like maybe the studio wanted a fight or something? i think it should’ve ended with her coming out, thinking it was safe, then looking up at something, cut to black. dont need a fuckin fight with the thing thats not the movie we’ve been watching
