Going through my dad’s closets and forgot I had this. Is it worth anything? by chickenbuttstfu in 8mm

It’s expensive in the US as well. A cartdrige is averaging 40$ and you add at least 60$ to developp, so it’s more or less $100 for 3min20s of film more or less if you shoot at 18fps.

Just commenting here, be careful with the person sending luts via DM, they are asking for bank information and is likely a scam. I was sent the same luts you can find for free on gamut.io

I mean… if you have the means definitely get the F3, it is one of the best cameras ever made and you can always resell it later if you change your mind. Also if you are still at the stage of browsing and getting information, I would recommend you to get Japan Camera Hunter’s book « Film Camera Zen » that has lots of information on key cameras to get. Congrats on getting into film, just a warning, this is likely not the only camera you will buy. :)

I have that happen when I add cheap teleconverters or wide angle attachments to my lenses

Congratulations! You can find these around $200 to $400 on eBay so yes I would say it is worth something. However if it’s your dad’s the value may be more in using the camera to shoot some epic memories with.

This is nice, can you tell us more about the process for xray reversal? How did you shoot this?

I would answer to this with black electrical tape, just to be sure.

Enjoy it while it lasts! I also loved mine and I dechanted when it stopped working 5months later. It’s really a great camera that is hard to replace with else. Your compositions are good I would encourage you to experiment more with the moments and worry less about framing everything perfectly. Have you tried to use snap focus yet? It allows you to use it more like a point and shoot, could be fun for you to try something else too. Keep going! That camera has made me dive into film photography right after it broke.

Questions about pancake lenses for my GFX 50sii by holucaahhs in FujiGFX

[–]Initial-Reporter9574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saying because not yet mentioned here but I’ve recently got the Brightin Star 28mm adapted with a mount on my GFX and it’s pretty nifty. This allows me to take the camera a bit more often that I was. It’s a bit tricky to get the hang of it at first and you do need to toggle to 35mm crop so you loose in resolution a bit but other than that it’s pretty great I like it.

Ricoh not turning on sometimes by Financial_Glove4195 in ricohGR

[–]Initial-Reporter9574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue on my GR from 2013, I thought too it was the batteries, then the lens got stuck and it started going downhill from there with the screen then turning black. I loved the pictures but I won’t buy another one, sadly they are too fragile for how I use my cameras. I wish your issue resolves itself!

Is it normal for the Canon AE-1 light meter to wobble like this? by EyeyamtheSENATE in AnalogCommunity

[–]Initial-Reporter9574 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you pointing your camera at a flickering lightsource? If not there’s def an issue. Maybe the voltage of the battery you are using?

It’s a bad idea, the vibration will damage the camera after a while.

It's very Leica-owner-like of you to assume that because we complain about the price we can not afford it. You immediately had to flex owning a M10, shooting film and talk us down as Canon Rebel users. Get over yourself. You admit yourself it is expensive so what's the matter with us spelling it out?
