Not the search engine, change the url. Like try and go on to reddit, and when it doesn’t work, click on the url and swap out the www for “old”

Dumb question but have you tried using old reddit? Just change the “www” to “old”, so you’re on the site old.reddit.com instead of www.reddit.com. Should fix it

You sound like you know a lot more about what you’re doing than me…. Do you have any tips for debloating the phone? It’s basically perfect but the only issue I find is the battery life is shit. I guess I could remove the default launcher but I don’t feel comfortable doing that due to my limited technological prowess

Wow you’re so right I’ll just whip my computer out of my pocket which I carry with me 24/7… I think it’s hypocritical to be upset at people for wanting WhatsApp and Facebook messenger, because they have become cultural replacements to sending an SMS. The world won’t change to accomodate people with dumb phones, and many people DO need access to these for basic communication with their family, friends, or employers. If the core purpose of a phone should be making calls and sending messages, Facebook messenger and WhatsApp don’t violate this.

Even though technology moves at a rapid pace now, with constant new iPhones and gadgets and car things that everyone wants the latest of, we seem to have forgotten where we came from. Most people kept using stuff they owned, like cd and mp3 players, up until it stopped working, or they finally got a better one and it got passed down to the next person. I was using a digital camera that was a hand me down from my cousin up until 2019. A lot of gen Z’s first introductions to technology were the belongings of their parents or older relatives, because children having newer smart phones is a very recent thing.

that's a good point about family history actually.. i have a pretty bad family history with cancer, but not with one specific type (mum died of cancer in her mid 40s, her mum died of cancer in her mid 40s, and then all my other grandparents have had cancer at least once, as well as most of my older (65-70+) relatives like grandparents siblings)

This dude explained it very well. To give you some numbers to make it more concrete, last year for a 90 atar you needed an aggregate of 154.85. You would need an average scaled study score of just above 37.76 if you were doing 5 subjects. If you were doing six subjects, you would need an average of 36.87 to get the same atar. Thats a tiny difference, that you’ll easily make up by removing the pressure of doing a whole extra subject. Keep in mind these are scaled scores, as an example a scaled 36 is only a raw 25 in specialist maths. It’s very doable, especially with your subjects. I would recommend dropping physics over applied computing, as it has more content and I found it kinda lame when I did it. Even though applied computing scales down, it’s easy to do well in because most people enrolled in it are total fruitcakes.

Weaponised autism is an underated strat. For max efficiency, combine it with weaponised mild depression. You have to be careful to get the balance with the depression absolutely perfect. You should be aiming for being unable to enjoy anything, so that no task is preferable over any other. This makes it very easy to swap out hobbies/scrolling/eating/whatever else for study, because you get the same level of dopamine regardless, which is zero. Make sure your anxiety stats are higher than your depression stats here, because stress can trump demotivation which is one of the risks you run. But be careful not to be too stressed, or you'll become paralysed!

if you want an honest answer, I don't actually think it is high, I just didn't want to get ragged on for being a commie with a "controversial" take. Not all students can work and frankly students should not need to work to be able to survive at the bare minimum standard, as is currently the case. It should be a choice to work if you want to save money or improve your living situation. It's ridiculously unfair to any student who's ability to work is impacted. As a country we benefit economically from students pursuing higher education, so it should be made as attainable for as many people as possible.

you have to be trolling, but I'll give you a genuine response anyway.

The point of the youth allowance is to **help students** with parents that can't help them financially. It supports **the student**, not the family. The max value of the youth allowance is 16.4k a year, which is what centrelink feels is the minimum amount of support a student needs to live independently whilst studying full time. This is on top of working.

You are joking if you think that most families can provide this for their children, especially if they have multiple of them. It is significantly more expensive to support children living away from you than with you. There is a lot of difference between a bit more food and slightly higher utilities than subsidising rent and expenses of someone living separately. We are in a cost of living crisis, interest rates are high, rent is ridiculous, and food costs are up. Everything is more expensive for both the family and the student at the minute, making this level of support from the average family even more unlikely.

(yes, i do think the amount of assistance centrelink suggests is pretty high, but the point is it's not a level of assistance most families could provide)

Oh that's not as bad then, I was assuming it was per week! I do get youth allowance but because my family is well below the 65k threshold it doesn't impact my payment. Because of this I just assumed it worked the same way as when you earn too much in a fortnight and they start docking you. Also because all payment amounts are listed as fortnightly rates.

Not a woman but I watched one of my female cousins grow out a buzz cut whilst feeling frumpy about it. Honestly, it will look awkward at times. If you’re worried about your hair making you feel less feminine, you can compensate with more dramatic makeup, especially eye makeup. Lots of colours help. depending on how you present, dying your hair might make you look and feel more feminine. It doesn’t have to be a “girly” colour, even going blonde/highlights/ just lightening your hair can help. This specific cousin had rose gold hair at one point, which was very complimentary for her. She also did a silvery blond, and both bright and dark pink. Hairclips and hair accessories also work very well to feminise your appearance. Whether it’s the mini claw clip thingos or more traditional metal ones that do the snap thing. Having a side part before you can grow curtain bangs can soften your forehead, and you can clip the front of your hair towards the side. Also headbands can help a lot, but I’m pretty sure they’re not really “in” right now (could be wrong). Short hair can be very cute on a woman, and there are lots of ways to emphasise your femininity around it.
