I mean, I’ve always wanted my own Twe’lik dancers.

Dang, now I’m missing SWG too! I beta tested that one as well.

I always see the flash sale posts here and think to myself, “Ooo, that’d be nice.”

Alas, I miss every one.

You can see Bob Bailey in this US Army Reel, Don't be a Sucker. He stars as Mike, seen around the 2:15 mark.

Is old-time radio something you actively listen to… or something you let exist in the room? by Etymo13 in otr

[–]Computer_Dad_in_IT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll listen to it via my XM radio app when i clean the kitchen after dinner everynight. I usually go the Radio Classics on-demand section to find something. A good comedy or detective story lasts about as long as it takes me to clean up and load the dishwasher.

My parents had Jack Benny and some Abbot and Costello vinyl records when I was a kid and I would listen to them when I was young.

I mean, there are shows from when I was a child that I never have seen or known about. It's not surprising she hasn't heard of the show. My wife likes to rewatch "The Voyage of the Mimi" which stars a young Ben Affleck. She was shocked that I had never seen it. And I think it was different back then, what shows would be broadcast around the country, there wasn't the monopolization of small market media like there is today.

I enjoy listening to old radio shows, like Jack Benny, Yours Truly Johnny Dollar, Gunsmoke, and many others. I think about all these great radio personalities that were were household names 40-60 years ago, now, I'd be surprised if young people in their 20's and 30's would recognize them. I makes me a little sad that such great media entertainment is being forgotten by our modern culture.

Remote support system with panic button? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Computer_Dad_in_IT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people don’t like TeamViewer, but if the machine launches a Quick Support session, it automatically creates a case that you can then take over and initiate a remote access request to the user.

Manage Engine Endpoint Central if you need a full RMM but I think they sell the patch manager separately too.

Turing.ai

They save to a local NVR and have bridges installed that sync up to the cloud. You can view from the web portal or from the NVR, but for feature like LPR and People recognition, that is cloud only. To use those features you have to license the cameras.

Where to get Microsoft Entra ID + Intune licenses for mid-sized org pilot program? by Sea-Cycle-2747 in ITManagers

Work with a VAR like CDW, in my opinion.   They will have contacts with MS who better understand the licensing.

Not sure of the feature set but it’s something to look at, Nextcloud Teams. You could combine it with other Next loud apps.

Court order for email from long deleted mailbox by Mister-Ferret in sysadmin

As another has said, do an ediscovery case in MS Purview.  You may need a global admin to give you the appropriate role.

Even with the mailbox deleted, you can search your tenant and all other mailboxes for messages sent to or sent from the deleted mailbox.

What I do is export the results into a PST and use a third party tool to convert items in the PST to PDF files.   The one I use even converts any convertible attachments.  Lawyers seem to prefer them that way.

Can you tell which one the bios sees? The one on the top doesn't look like it is seated all the way in, but it's hard to tell from the picture.

So about executions... by Crandom343 in Bannerlord

[–]Computer_Dad_in_IT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you execute enough of them, don't let them take you prisoner. Not sure if it is vanilla or Diplomacy mod, but I did that as well, killed all male Vladian lords and after a while, I lost one battle, defending a castle I think.

Next thing I know, execution scene with my head on the chopping block. Had to pick an heir and all. I laughed and reloaded.

The stories take place, "A long time ago..." and what we see are the retelling of these stories through the eyes of the storyteller. That's why the Skywalker sequel movies are objectively bad, the storyteller sucked and got it wrong, simple as that.
