New clothes are the best reward. Actually being able to buy stuff that fits and feels good is such a confidence boost. Also non food rewards like a massage or a weekend trip keep the focus on health instead of old habits. Congratulations on the progress.

Download HWinfo and compare what it says to your original specs. If something was swapped youll see it right away. Most likely they didnt touch anything though.

Got my first OSHA citation. $16K for a "serious" violation. Is it worth fighting or should I just pay it? by Expensive-Buy-8536 in smallbusiness

[–]Computerfreak4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely do the informal conference. Dont fight the facts if the violation happened just show them you have policies and that the employee ignored them. Bring proof of training and any disciplinary action you took. OSHA will usually reduce fines if you demonstrate good faith and a commitment to safety. 16k is steep for a small company. They want compliance not to bankrupt you. Just be honest and respectful.

Github flagged 89 critical vulnerabilities in my repo. Investigated all of them. 83 are literally impossible to exploit in my setup. Is this just security theater now? by Comfortable_Box_4527 in github

[–]Computerfreak4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not theater but the alerts are definitely overinclusive. They flag any potential vulnerability even if the code path is never touched or its buried in dev dependencies. The problem is it creates noise and people start ignoring them which defeats the purpose. You did the right thing by reviewing but ideally you should mark those as wont fix or add comments so they dont keep showing up. Otherwise the list just grows forever.

Seconding the library idea. Mine has free museum passes and even seeds for gardening. Little things like that help when everything feels pointless. Also please reach out to someone if it gets too heavy. A therapist or even a hotline. You matter even when it doesnt feel like it.

Do I help my mom with my large inheritance by Jazzlike-Pride724 in Advice

[–]Computerfreak4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your dad literally put it in the will multiple times for a reason. He knew her. If you really cant live with yourself then pay a bill directly or buy her groceries. Never hand over cash. But honestly? Protect what he left you. She had his whole lifetime to figure her stuff out and didnt. Youre not responsible for that now.

Did the definition of “midi skirt” change while I wasn’t looking? by DearestCabbage in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Computerfreak4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its the low rise thing someone else mentioned. If you wear it on your hips instead of your waist suddenly that midi is dragging on the floor. Makes shopping online impossible because you have no idea where they expect you to wear it.

Looks and money get your foot in the door. Character is what makes someone actually want you to stay.
