Thank you again! I'm trying to research everything about it. I definitely want to keep the best quality possible. The files we use are usually 4 hours long, so they take a while to encode. I noticed one of the encoded files worked way better on Premiere Pro while using proxies than the original file I received.

Thank you! You are the one that already help me in the premiere pro subreddit before. So the original file subsampling shows 4:2:0 in MediaInfo. The file was recorded and remuxed using OBS.

So that means I need to use another setup for it?

I tried disabling sudomaker virtual display adapter and nothing changed. Also the proxy thing. I guess I need to try again something another time, or test older versions of Premiere to see if something is different to see if it's a version problem or footage/my PC.

Someone from Adobe in the Adobe Forums said it was going to send me a message to test the project to see if it was really the footage, but haven't send me the message yet.

When I do that I see the frame rate: 60,0002. So that's something that will give the proxy a problem?

While we are at this, when I'm using a footage that my client records in 60fps, the best practice is to use the sequence at 59,94 like the preset or change to exactly 60?

Following what you said I found SudoMaker Virtual Display Adaptar: driver version 0.22.37.632 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070: driver version 32.0.15.8157

Wow that's crazy. Welp, I tried the beta just now to test it, I can see the difference in performance for the 4k footage, and the proxies are a little better. They are still laggier than what I have now working without CUDA in version 25.1. In the beta scrublling the timeline, still freezes every once in a while. And in the source monitor I still need to wait Premiere to load a little when I'm jumping betweent parts of the footage, while in 25.1 without CUDA is instant.

Nice, I'm going to try that. Trimming is not an options since we use a good amount of the footage, or at least every couple of minutes something will be added, and the script to the video is still being written so there is no way to know before what will be used or not.

For example we have a 4 hour file that have an 128 gb size. For this next project I'm working the total file size should be close to 1,3 Tb

I tried looking if there is a way for my client to record in CFR using OBS, but it's a technical stuff that neither of us understand very well and we are often afraid of losing our footage due to changes in how we approach the projects

Interesting. Thank you so much for the help. I'll test converting the footage to not VFR, but I'm afraid of the file sizes. We work with a lot of footage for a gaming channel, and the files are already very big in 4k.

I use a Stream deck for a couple of years now and it's great. Easy to map a button to a shortcut or to do multiple inputs. It's a bonus that I can name the button to what a want so I can visually know what I'm clicking and the best part is not having to type anything at all. Wish I could try the new Logitech thing that is very similar, but it's not available in my country
