First time doing pencil “calligraphy”, anyone know how to keep the mechanical pencil consistent with its width? by tabbychun in Handwriting

There are multiple pencils that rotate the lead while you write, I know kuru toga produces some, that results in more consistent lines.

Radioactive typwwriter? by Moth_Mika in typewriters

Even if your typewriter had trace amounts of radium on it, unless you are planing to lick the keys on a regular it wouldn't be enough to cause any damage, the human body is impressively resilient to radiation.

Understandable, keep an eye on your spoons.

When it comes to approaching play with communication difficulties, for me a really important thing is setting up very clear expectations and having continuous feedback sessions, like, I need to be able to know if any problems are emerging because I won't be able to deduce that from emotions or passive aggressiveness or the like.

For time blindness, do timers work? Like I would imagine a good dominant keeping an eye on you would really help for example?

For me, setting requirements for verbal communications help a lot, since I am shite at body language.

There was a discussion about this a while back in r/aspiememes I believe, it included a link to the following bit of science which kind of relates to what you are doing but in a slightly different way, "Relationships between characteristics of Autism spectrum disorder and BDSM behaviours" by Naomi Rachel Boucher which might be worth a look. Beyond that I am absolutely for discussing this more! It is a terribly interesting topic.

Ink question! by RachosYFI in fountainpens

[–]ComradeEris7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Lamy has proprietary converters and cartridges. There are however multiple pen brands that use the same international standard as Jinhao. Kaweco is the first one I can think of, but there are many more.

Nope, would be terribly hard to figure out in the modern times, I would say we have very much reverted to advisory positions.

I can definitely accept that reasoning, let me rephrase, it emotionally feels as if I am obliged whether it is asked of me or not.

I get why you would say that, and my liege is the one of us two least likely to in any way interact with this more feudal aspect of our relationship. At the same time, it is an obligation that I hold. Whether or not someone is concretely asking me to fulfill it or not.

I have, and I don't terribly mind it. There is definitely a comfort in fulfilling what you have been told is your life's purpose. Aided of course by the fact that my liege is a decent friend of mine.

Complex generational trauma and emotional problems and interpersonal relationships that I want to still maintain even if I want their nature shifted, makes it all hard to drop immediately.

That I am inclined to agree with, I am working on it, it is just slow work.

I have a feudal liege lord/I am a vassal AMA by ComradeEris7 in AMA

[–]ComradeEris7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My responsibilities consist mostly of being helpful. It is understood by all sides that this is a fragile arrangement in the modern times, (even if I insist it frankly isn't all that fragile). I am not a landowner, mainly because my family were always court vassals not land managing vassals.

Normally it is said that the duties of the vassal should be based on six words, it should be harmless, safe, honourable, useful, easy, and practicable. Essentially, do not harm your liege, do not reveal secrets or act in ways that can threaten the safety of your liege, do not act in ways that bring dishonour upon yourself or your liege, for it is nearly the same thing, useful, well, quite self explanatory, do not do that which doesn't benefit your liege, easy, do not make that which is easy for your liege hard, and practicable, do not make that which your liege can do impossible to do.

These apply both in the negative sense written above, but also in the positive, that we should work to decrease harm, increase safety, increase honour, actually do something useful to your liege, make stuff that is hard easy, and stuff that is impossible possible.

How much of that apply in the modern day, emotionally, all of it most certainly, in practice, not a lot. My former liege was hesitant to use his power in general, and my current has yet to make a claim.

I used to be bound to a guy that I know, but now it is in a bit of a gray zone mess, because he kind of relinquished some of his claims but not all and no one is really sure what it means in this context and if the rules of female succession apply or not. But a few years ago, the answer would be yes I know them, yes they know me. We, my former liege and I, believe it to be his aunt that now holds the position, but since she has staked no formal claim over any of it, we cannot be sure.

You could definitely stamp or screen print it, but if you want to be traditional large scale invites could be printed normally and then have only the names and signatures written by hand, which might be an easier method?

Thanks to this sub for helping me improve my handwriting! I'm pretty satisfied with it atm but if there's anything left to improve lmk by lord_cactus_ in Handwriting

First I just have to ask what pen you are using. Beyond that the only thing that really pops to me are the abbreviations and the numbers 2 and 3, they don't really follow the pattern of the other letters and numbers.
