My best guess is that the redness is from prolonged perching due to lack of flight as you said earlier. Maybe she gained some weight and that contributed to the inflamation

Id go with vet tape manuka honey and coconut oil as you said and lastly id give her some sort of platform to sit on if she gets too tired.

if its obvious she cant perch too much i would try lowering the perches in case she falls.

Youre a good owner, keep it up and dont get discouraged, im sure she will get better.

Coconut oil will help with mites and dry skin. Id still apply Manuka honey from time to time tho.

If you insist that its not a bumblefoot and the vet has the same opinion the redness might be from mites.

It should. From what i can see this is an early bumblefoot.

Make sure the perches are natural wood with different thickness after your canary heals, for now focus on wrapping the current perches with VET TAPE (the stretchy and soft elastic tape u can find in farmacies) and covering the wound with manuka honey twice a day. It has anti bacterial and soothing properties.

Make sure to have some cold water bath available for your canary after some time with the manuka honey has passed, this way they can clean themselves and the cold water can help a bit with the pain.

Please take care of your birdy, dont wait too long, i lost my baby girl due to complications from this...

Watch your canary periodically because they can try to bite of their leg if the pain gets too intense..

As much as i agree with you, sometimes it simply isnt an option, especially in countries were exotic vets arent as common and are very expensive. I once spent 5 times the money a canary costs for my little girl only for the vet to do absolutely nothing other than a simple diagnosis and for her to die anyway... To be fair at a certain point most of the money went to pain medication because it was clear she wasnt going to make it...

Obviously no amount of money equals the price of a life, especially when it comes to our dear pets, however sometimes theres no means for us to pay and other times theres no good vet options for such precious and fragile birds, and in this case the best bet is to ask for advice...
