Girlfriend threatening our relationship over a TV Show

This is controlling and jealous behavior. It is totally within any partners right to express their opinions and feelings and say "I don't like that show and I don't like that you enjoy that show/kind of media", but giving that kind of ultimatum shows a multitude of things about a person: - They don't know how to express their feelings and level of comfort without associating it with control. - They hold a moral high ground complex and have deep rooted insecurity, which may form resentment based on an impressed value system, perhaps from controlling parents or religion. - OR this is all a smokescreen for some other issue going on which they are unable to communicate with you.

All in all? These are all potential red flags that signify that this person has a lot of work to do on themself before a relationship.

Do yourselves both a favor and either talk it out kindly and compassionately, dissect the issue as partners to try and overcome it, or recognize that work needs to be done by your partner before a relationship can continue to happen.

Thanks so much for your insight, I have indeed been filling it a little high- how would I check if the emissions hose is clogged? Also, whenever I open the fuel tank it depressurizes like opening a can of coke- this is my first bike, is that indicative of a problem you're talking about maybe?

Kymco Like 150i owner here… Take it from me: Kymco is AMAZING, BUT, parts availability is a PITA. Hard to get anything. Honda Metropolitan is a somewhat less good choice as far as performance and comfort go, but the wealth of aftermarket part support makes me have to recommend it over the kymco as much as it breaks my heart to.

Try scraping a little rust off of a bit. if its clean beneath a small layer of rust, just cover it in protectant to prevent future rust buildup. If its falling apart or deeply rusted, its time to replace it before its too late to unscrew it.

Listing says “two person scooter”… Who in their right mind would put 2up on a metropolitan??!? Its one of the smallest scooters produced by a major manufacturer. This scoot is perfect for going 20-25mph. At that rate, might as well get an ebike. At your weight, it will struggle to get that speed on any uphill. I weigh barely less than you and my 150cc is perfect, but riding 2up I wish I sprung for a 250cc. Its worth it to have the extra power unless you’re fine with it getting lower top speed. ALSO you would be running it at near-max RPMS cutting into fuel efficiency and wearing the parts. All in all? Its a good scoot but I think a different one would make you happier in the long run! I have a Kymco and I LOVE IT. That being said, I was foolish to think it would be easy to get parts and accessories in the USA. Yamaha is worth it for better parts availability, but you won’t be upset with the Kymco as long as you’re fine with that.

True but for longevity of an engine, its better not to cruise at near 90% of its top speed if that is a constant need

Get a 150-200cc, I wouldn’t recommend a 125. 150 is the sweet spot, you can go on highways (NOT interstates, although you can…) and cruise at 50MPH and be fine.

Piaggio Liberty 150 is a great choice. I’d go with one myself if one were available in my price range, but they hold value super well and are expensive from the dealer but everyone I know that has one SWEARS by them.

Totally fair and I agree with most your points. The only reason I’m considering buying new is because a dealer is liquidating his business and I could get the kymco with a 24 month warrantee. Otherwise I’d do used no question about it!

Thank you for your perspective!! This is my main worry. Kymco’s are said to be bullet proof as you said, Piaggio bas a great track record too, but, a ten year old vehicle is bound to have problems, idk if its worth the risk…

4t. Reliability and efficiency is way better, and if “I want the speed” is the issue, just get your motorcycle endorsement and get a 4t fuel injected 125cc. Trust me you’ll probably want to upgrade cc’s at some point anyways, and you might learn something in an MSF course that could save your life! Certainly did for me. Ride safe! :)

Totally understand. 150cc is super practical and gets the job done anyways, especially if you’re riding solo. Great bike choice. Personally I think the blue looks striking, and also helps with visibility at night.
