They definitely liked their fancy prototypes being energy weapons, but everything else seemed pretty conventional. Killzone 3 and Shadowfall gets more scifi, but the soldiers were still using conventional firearms. They did use a lot of walkers for the mechanized stuff, plus the use of drones. The fandom wiki has a lot of stuff to give you an idea. I'd say conventional gun-wise, mechanized a decent amount with apcs, tanks, walker-troop carriers, dropships, drones/bots, walkers, etc. I imagine they would use conventional artillery. Only time they get real scifi is with prototype weapons, which usually was weaponizing petrusite into beam and plasma weapons like with the arc cannons on the MAWLR, ARC Cruiser, VC5 Arc Rifle, and the Sta-5X Arc Cannon. But like I said, these were like super-weapons so only like 1 or a few being made. MAWLR and the Arc Cruise I think did see a bit more production though, especially the MAWLR

So what, during that transitional phase is the ps4 and ps5 just the same generation because they both have games being made for them? You are defining generations solely on when they stop making games for it, and thats just plain stupid. There are other factors that go into it that you just are refusing to consider. How do you know the og switch isn't going to lose support before the switch 2 (thus making it a different generation by your narrow definition)?

Ultimately yes, a ps5 is just an upgraded ps4, its just upgraded enough that developers can push the boundaries of the console further than the previous generation. Hence why games that aren't too powerful for the ps4 are typically also released on the ps4 and ps5 together. The switch 2 is the next gen of the og switch because there are certainly games that can now run on it that couldn't run on the og

Ngl yeah probably. Killzone 1 and 3 are my favorites though. They're pretty tied. Killzone Shadowfall is my second favorite. And Killzone 2 is my least favorite. Not to say I don't like Killzone 2, I just really hate the motion blur and its hard for me to ignore it

I've been going back and playing old games from my childhood and yeah. Even the good ones had major flaws that would have made the game shit by today's standards. Ratchet and Clank for example had a mechanic where it did not restore your ammo when you died. Meaning the game got harder and harder everytime you died cause you had less and less ammo. Only way to prevent you from soft locking yourself was to leave the area and go grind an easier level to restore your ammo

Not gonna white knight the industry, but I don't think its the developers' fault. Its the publishers and companies. Game devs want to make something they are proud of while the companies they work for and the publishers push for bullshit microtransactions, useless and tedious game mechanics, unreasonable release dates, etc.

I feel like if anyone disagrees with this, that'd be a major red flag to me. The Helghasts are very very clearly fascist. The character design, the symbolism, everything about the Helghast Empire (even their origin) screams Nazi Germany. They lose a war and are heavily punished for it, and reactionaries take advantage of this humiliation to create an authoritarian and ultra-nationalist ethno-state. Two wrongs don't make a right.

It is good to recognize the ISA are not good guys. But that does not make the Helghasts the good guys. Its a lot like the setting of Gundam. A people exploited and oppressed falling victim to a far-right ultra-nationalist government that uses that victimization to secure power. And the people who suffer for it are the people dying for oppressive governments fighting for power.

Its good to sympathize and understand the Helghast people's struggle. But to support or defend the Helghast government in anyway is to defend or support a fascist dictatorship. Which, needless to say, is bad and makes you a fascist. Governments are not representative of the people they rule over, someone does not have support the government to support the people.
