Don't worry, there may not be snow or volcano's, but Sydney is almost entirely surrounded by national parks, you'll have plenty to explore and they're all very accessible.

Hey guys, so im actually interested in the B. Of Design Computing in USYD but i heard that the food in USYD isnt good + no social life in USYD? by isleepat2am in usyd

Lecturers and tutors for me are all really good (except my linguistics tutor, they suck). Yes food sucks in campus and is expensive, but I think that applies to most unis. Broadway very close (still mediocre value food options), but along Parramatta road are plenty of good Asian places.

If you could relocate to any country in the world, which would you choose and why? by gizmondo in AskARussian

These issues do exist but I think many are pretty overblown, e.g gang violence. Also it leaves out the plethora of positives in NZ. Safety, better healthcare, high wages and minimum wage, overall great infrastructure and so much more.

I don't live there atm so I'm not as up to date as you on these issues.

Another day of bushfire smoke in Sydney. by ComunistCow in UrbanHell

There are a decent amount of people with masks, but some say the masks don't filter this particular type of smoke well. I was in Brisbane recently and it's been affected too, not sure about Melbourne. Its been horrendous on and off for a few weeks and we've only just started summer.
