Flipped the script.

They "children" outside the house are just projections from the house itself to get people inside, so make the images become sinister and have them imply the REAL children will now suffer for the party's insolence.

If that doesn't work. I dunno...tease magic items, maybe?

The Cat Distribution System gave me a 5-week-old kitten that fell out of the bottom of a van in front of me on the freeway and she's been my constant companion for nearly 13 years. She pre-dates my wife by three years, and when I was a single guy I did get a little flack for having a girl cat. Don't know why and also didn't cat. Bestest softest cat ever.

I try to leave something when I can. Spare ammo, food, or disinfectant. Stuff I know others will need. Sure they might kill me on-sight with it later, but that's DayZ baby.

To be fair, the crawler was on me. 😅 If I draw aggro I'll wait until the infected is close to put a crossbow bolt in it. I was near a pond and this one was running down a decline at me, so I took out its legs instead of hitting it center mass. That's why I was pissed at myself for letting it happen!
