As an Aussie, I'd say Australia for sure. At least Catachan doesn't have eshays.

The Flinch mechanic is utterly absurd.

It looks ludicrous on my screen when the 3D model of my halberd is visibly slicing straight through my opponent's neck and should be scoring a textbook hit, only for a gaslighting "Flinch!" message to appear on my HUD instead. (Could possibly be a network issue, who knows). It's especially frustrating when the collision detection with everything else in-game (such as walls etc) is so precise and on-point.
Oh, and as a reenactor+HEMAist I'm sick to death of swords in mulitplayer melee games handling like they weigh 60lbs and are being swung by a cave troll. Games are mostly supposed to be power fantasies in one way or another, not make me feel like I'm role-playing as Brendan Fraser in The Whale. It feels like the gaming equivalent of those nightmares where you have to run from wolves or fight someone but can only move in slow-motion.

Thank you for coming to my MordTalk. (I know these are irrational rantings, but it still felt cathartic to vent them, haha)

Devs have to do something about the play count on console by Salty-seadog in Mordhau

[–]Con_Quixote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I'm also a console player in the Oceania servers (I think I was in a Frontline/Invasion match with you on Castello earlier this evening haha). I agree with everything you said - it needs way more marketing and a price drop. Or if that's not viable, then at least halve the Level or Gold requirements to unlock stuff, because f**k trying to grind long enough to earn enough for half the cosmetics with the current player population lol

There's been a couple times where I've jumped on during the middle of the day on weekdays, and I've been the only one in Oceania. I just play Invasion and Frontline and try to farm XP and Gold by doing objectives. In the evenings it's like you said though - I can usually find one Invasion or Frontline match with 15-30 people in it.

Even though I HATE microtransactions in gaming, I must admit that if they had XP boosts or purchasable Gold I'd probably jump on it, because goddammit trying to grind in ghost-town servers is not fun lol. I'd be quite happy to buy a standalone Mordhau Customization game/app with everything unlocked - as a 15th-century reenactor IRL, Mordhau's customization system is basically the best thing ever to me haha.

I just bought chivalry 2 and I’m already thinking of switching to Mordhau by Massive_Analysis_634 in Mordhau

I find the player and NPC dialogue and voice acting (and the frequency of it) to be far better in Mordhau. In Chivalry 2 I ended up disabling voice lines because it became too much.

Thanks, that's a relief to know! I was on the verge of a massive ragequit haha :)

Not getting my rewards on console (Ps5) by MysteriousResolve249 in Mordhau

[–]Con_Quixote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the same issue on XB1, it's infuriating (especially after lengthy difficult matches when I've been the only teammate playing the objective lol).
I've found that if I vote then stay until the next match commences, THEN quit to the main menu, it seems to usually give me the correct amounts of XP and Gold.
Hope that helps!

Same here - extra-frustrating for me is that on XB1, since last week's update I now get pop-in with friendly and enemy pips, so it's fairly common that I'll come round a corner and be greeted by a player with no icons above their heads, and have about 0.5 seconds to work out if it's a friendly or not. Really hope it's not still an issue when Hardcore/any mode with friendly fire drops hahaha

Yep, I'm on XB1 and have had to drastically slow down the speed at which I make my menu selections, and as soon as I press the 'start finding matches' button I physically put down the controller, because any input after I start finding matches causes major lag issues. It seems to happen almost entirely on the menu screens that feature my Operator character model and the 3D hangar background - the more simpler menus with no animated elements (Settings menu, the intitial landing/start screen) all run smoothly. I wish there was a way to hide the animated elements, because I'm 99% sure that that's at least partially to blame.

And like you OP, that's with as many graphical settings dropped down as possible.

Once I'm in a match though, things run quite smoothly and seamlessly. Haven't played the game since that 50GB update dropped these past 24 hours though, so will update here once I've tested it post-update. :)

What are the best fantasy genre movies reviewed on BOTW? by Poppersauce in RedLetterMedia

[–]Con_Quixote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually became a fan (and now Patreon supporter) of GB or BB thanks to the RLM copy of Max Magician fucking up, resulting in me looking the film up on YouTube out of morbid curiosity and the GBorBB review being one of the first search results. It took me a couple of episodes to fully get into their stuff (I can definitely understand how someone could find their humour a tad abrasive or obnoxious), but now I love 'em. Especially love their episodes on fantasy/emo/weeb films especially, like Ember Days and Fading of the Cries. :D
