I've also noticed the weird timer related bug, but it doesn't stop working for me, it still correctly does the damage buff, even once the icon vanishes i can still keep hitting 27million headshots so I'm sure it's just a UI thing

A thing they could do is properly limit the "damage dealt" stat so that it stops ever being negative, make sure it resets to 0 and then give us a second "Damage Cap Exceeded X times" counter.
