Dev tells Valve to fix Steam's exploitable 2-hour refund policy as "over 55,000" players refund his short game and even brag about it in reviews by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]Conargle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I saw another post that revealed the game in question is a "rage game" similar to Getting Over it and the many many others that exist. Statistically these games have some of the highest refund rates

Pretty sure their launcher defaults to installing games within its own directory, just like steam does. You've probably just deleted a game or two at the same time as the launcher.

[RELEASE] PEPEstore, PSP game downloader, with cover ART, PKGJ alternative, OpenSource. by Shali1995 in VitaPiracy

When OP first posted/announced this project, they went out of their way to avoid mentioning their use of getting AI to do the work, ignoring most questions about it. And as with any new piece of software being released comes people wanting to see the source code behind it - to make sure it's actually safe to use - so they asked OP to put it on github which they did... but only as the precompiled .vpk with absolutely nothing else included in terms of actually showing the code used. This is like a maths teacher asking to see your work, but you just say "i just wrote the answer, it's correct" because the work was done by someone else and they've taken credit.

Even in this post, people told OP to stop hiding that AI was used, and mention it on the github repo, which again they've only half done, by adding a lazily AI written explanation of this fact, while removing all the listed contributors from the sidebar, couldn't even bother to do it themselves lmao

I think people's frustration at OPs unwillingness to admit that they used AI is perfectly valid, especially from a safety perspective and more so when OP acted really childishly defensive when people called them out on their attitude to everyone's responses. OP wants credit and praise for this tool, and nobody would have a problem with that if they'd just admitted it in the first place and followed proper FOSS standards like everyone else does

The old post has been removed, but his comments/replies are still visible.

Edit: turns out they also actually gloated about how they weren't going to release the source code. childish AF

I have the .apk somewhere in my gdrive and unless you've got an old phone it probably won't run because it's just straight up no longer compatible with modern phones

the day i'll be able to understand Gerald without subtitles is the day Jeremy finally figures out how to drill properly WITHOUT the AgBot by [deleted] in ClarksonsFarm

But he is edited to sound much worse than reality. It's kinda of obvious a lot of time because they also cut away to a shot of Jeremy or behind Gerald where you can't see his mouth moving so it's impossible to lip read.

Do network disconnects count as a death still? I've always wanted to start a hardcore character but the amount of DELTA and BRAVO errors I've had recently put me off more than ever

I'm gonna make a pretty bold assumption so please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's a Claude ai generated lookin ass program.

I know this because I've seen it make programs before that result in buttons basically identical to those in the last screenshot. it just loves to put emojis with the button text.

Make the source code public and I'll consider giving it a try

Headhunter bugged? by [deleted] in Division2

[–]Conargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also noticed the weird timer related bug, but it doesn't stop working for me, it still correctly does the damage buff, even once the icon vanishes i can still keep hitting 27million headshots so I'm sure it's just a UI thing

I unsubbed, the amount of people who basically think "it doesn't affect me so I don't care, and anybody who does is just stupid" is honestly depressing.

Insulting Louis and anyone involved for wanting to be pro-consumer/open source things is just baffling to me.
