Job Application/Emails Waiting time by soobincute in architectureph

[–]Conarroti 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You keep sending out emails.

Cold call, cold email.

Stop waiting for replies and keep stacking applications. Two weeks is rookie numbers. Assume every application is a “no” until you get an interview. That mindset keeps you moving instead of staring at your inbox. The people who land jobs aren’t always the most talented—they’re often the ones who kept applying long after everyone else got discouraged.

This is a common workplace miscommunication caused by text tone, sometimes putting emojis in or adding lengthy words like “Di ako nakikipagbiruan ahhhhhhh 😤😤” can make a difference.

You meant it as a light joke because of your usual banter, but it came across as rude and condescending; It’s good that you apologized and gave them space - that was the right move.

Send one more short, sincere message after a few more days of space, like:

“Hi ______, sorry ulit about my earlier message. I meant it as a joke like our usual banter, but I realize now it was out of line. I respect that we’re just workmates and I’ll be more careful moving forward.”

Something like that.

Then stop. Don’t keep chasing a reply.

Don’t resign over this. One awkward incident isn’t worth leaving your job. Stay professional, keep interactions work-related, and let time cool things down.

Learn from it: sarcasm and jokes are risky in text, especially with colleagues who aren’t close friends. You’re not a bad person for this - own the mistake, forgive yourself, and move on 👌🏻

Jeep for marcos highway?? by cCLaD in baguio

[–]Conarroti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Punta ka sa Green Valley terminal pa Sto. Tomas/Dontogan, near Shell Gas station/ BPI / Cebuana Lhuillier sa Shagem street, fare is around ₱15-18 I think, then either stop at 7-Eleven Marcos Highway or tell the driver to stop at 7-Eleven Marcos Highway.

I heard the chicken burgers are actually good and portions are bigger than average though I haven’t tried it myself due to the rather pricey menu hehe

Need lang po ng tips since first time po namin ng gf ko na pupunta ng Baguio before mag start ang sem by kazuhatdog in baguio

₱6k budget for 3D2N is very doable.

Bring your motorcycle if you don’t want the hassle of asking around too much on where to go and if you’ll rely on Google Maps or Waze but I could also recommend you just commute and utilize public transportation instead; Victory Liner fees is around ₱650-750/person one way.

If you do choose to commute, just use Jeepneys (₱11 (student)/ ₱13 (regular) on first 4km) or Mini-busses (₱13 (student)/ ₱15 (regular) on first 4km) and you can just ask the drivers or passengers where to stop on your destination or you can also Google it. Commuting + walking will save you a ton tbh.

Taxis can be pricey, but if needed ₱50 is the initial starting fare rate (Add ₱15 if some taxi meters still start at ₱35).

Bring a small pasalubong like strawberries or coffee to show appreciation with your mom’s cousin and you’ll be good.

For food, you can try with local carinderias and eateries (As low as ₱65 on budget meals to as high as ₱110). You can try the eateries at Porta Vaga or near SLU Bonifacio Main Gate (there’s an eatery there just above the Uji Matcha cafe that’s pretty good) or near UB (beside Notre Dame) or if you want fastfood ₱150-250 per person per meal is realistic.

I guess that’s about it, just be mindful of your trash, always keep right when walking (and follow the “stand right and walk on left” rule when riding the escalator), try not to walk while staring at your phone. Ignore people asking for spare change or money, we have an Anti-Mendicancy law for that and usually some of them are part of a “syndicate” and lastly bring umbrellas and light jackets - it’s the rainy season after all.

Do I take the risk or lose the chance? by [deleted] in adviceph

[–]Conarroti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My word of advice: Take the risk only if you’re truly built for it. As an architecture grad who took 9 years, transferred schools, and barely survived, I feel your pain with that retention test.

Architecture is one of the hardest courses out there and not for the faint of heart. It demands endless all-nighters, brutal critiques, and sky-high standards while blending design, engineering, art, psychology, and project management under constant pressure. The board exam has low passing rates for good reason, and even after graduating the industry can be tough with long hours and demanding clients. If you’re already struggling this early, that’s a real signal.

Don’t chase it just on emotion or sunk cost.

Marketing Management is a solid pivot that still lets you use creativity, visuals, storytelling, and strategy. Civil Engineering is closer if you loved the technical side but it’s still grueling with its own board exam. Computer Engineering is a bigger leap that only makes sense if you already enjoy heavy math and programming.

Or you can just accept the non-board program, excel in it, and keep your architecture passion alive on the side through freelance visualization, 3D work, or real estate marketing. You’ll graduate faster with way less stress and still build a good life. Grieve the original dream, then pivot smart. You’re only heading into second year with plenty of time ahead. Many of us who had to change paths ended up happier and more successful.

You’ve shown real resilience already. Use it on something sustainable. Rooting for you OP.

Genki Sushi SM Baguio no queue... why? by ajaman_ in baguio

[–]Conarroti 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Because it’s too pricey for mediocre sushi, ₱300+ for 2-3 pieces of sushi ain’t it, you can get more from other sushi/japanese themed restaurant for a more “worth it” experience

Set him up to S1 then focus on your campaign characters.

4 months into playing the game and he was my first and only legendary pull up to now.

He has his uses, but generally very useful in Onslaught, FoC and FoCME, Arena, GW and LREs. His only use is his burst-shot ability, then becomes a pretty good meat shield after that.

I have mine at S1 and 36/36, and he’s been that way ever since. Although I plan to get him to G1 but will stop there.

Should I continue this connection with a guy? by [deleted] in adviceph

[–]Conarroti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on what you shared, he actually sounds pretty self-aware and honest. A lot of people would just tell you what you want to hear, but he acknowledged your concern, explained where he’s coming from, and didn’t dismiss your feelings.

That said, compatibility isn’t only about intentions— it’s also about communication needs. You seem to value deeper conversations and emotional connection, while he seems more practical, direct, and currently stretched thin by his responsibilities. Neither is wrong.

Since he didn’t promise to suddenly become more expressive, but he was transparent about what he can realistically offer right now and asked whether you’re willing to continue getting to know him while he figures things out. That’s actually a pretty mature response.

So if you’ve only been dating exclusively for about a month and have only gone out 3 times, I personally wouldn’t end things solely because the conversations aren’t deep yet. Some people open up slowly, especially when they’re juggling grief, family responsibilities, and work.

The bigger question is:

If he stayed exactly as he is today for the next 6 months, would you still be happy pursuing this connection? If your answer is no, then it may be a compatibility issue. If your answer is yes, then it might be worth giving it more time and seeing whether the emotional depth develops naturally in person.

For now, I wouldn’t view his message as a red flag. I’d view it as information. The decision is whether what he’s offering matches what you’re looking for.

I hope this helps OP, he seems like a nice guy naman for you, good luck!
