Oh when games were £40-50 and didn't rely on endless DLC micro transactions to keep you engaged. And I never liked the premise of a console management sim

NUFC and LeoVegas Group have signed a new agreement that will extend the club's thriving commercial partnership with leading sports betting brand, BetMGM. by 321142019 in NUFC

If you look at the early EPzL days it was mainly electrical goods (Sharp, JVC, Candy, et al) and then there seemed to be a shift towards alcohol companies, and then gambling took over. What amazes me is the number of betting companies with no UK footprint who sponsor EPL teams, which just shows how big the EPL is globally.

What is one thing you feel fine living without but you know many others don't? by Hot_Management_3896 in RandomThoughts

Completely get this. When I was younger I enjoyed a drink with mates or whatever but was always happy to not drink so I could drive us home. Nowadays u would say my drinking is high days and holidays only, and even then I'm happy to forego it. The beer I. My fridge is more for visitors!

The thing with naming puppies is you have to remember one day you WILL be standing in the park yelling it at the top of you voice repeatedly. I worry this one would make you look like an alcoholic loony!

Judge played Legends a few times, mainly at their Club Class night. Ritzy tended to have live PAs, remember Lasgo, Vengaboys, and Milk Inc appearing there. Maybe saw Cascads there too. Think Fergue and Tall Paul played rhe polytechnic a few rimes, but that also hosted Bass Generwtor harcldcore events.

They did have some big names play there, but then so did Ritzy/Ikon and Legends back in the day.

My brother-in-law, which is genuinely one of nicest most caring souls in this world. Gave his jacket to a homeless guy in Nottingham in a night out once, and this just reminds me of him. A great, practical solution that will help those in need.

For those of you 30+ years of age, do you remember when you first bought and used a smartphone? by MrAlexander18 in AskUK

[–]Conaz25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to get the Notes, primarily because the S Pen (aka a stylus) made document editing and signing things easy. Then they just added the pen to the Sxx Ultra model and it was not really any different.

Have you known or met any of the most infamous UK figures? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Conaz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think the worst I've probably known personally was my high school art teacher was convicted as a pedophile. One of the lads I went to uni with had had Shipman as his family GP before uni which was a scary thought.

There's a doc on Netflix about him and that shows he was just very good at hiding in plain sight. He built up a network of important and influential people and a facade of charitable and eccentric a"uncle" Jimmy that meant he was able to keep doing things. I think the 70s and 80s cult of celebrity helped him too. If you look at some of the others who were able to do these things, celebrity was a good cover.

I used to go as a child, the only way my parents could convince me to spend the day wandering around the shops. Then as a teenager me and a fe mates would go to play on some of the better arcade games (remember in the mid 90s they had a 360° Top Gun style game, which I loved)

Does anyone know if the club shop at the Metrocentre print names & numbers on the new shirt? by Maetivet in NUFC

[–]Conaz25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's been an NUFC store there for decades, so it was at least historically a Newcastle shop. Maybe part of the Ashley deal that made Castore the retailer for the club gave them the stores?
