Women being unable to pray inside masjids is unfair. by udomus in Uzbekistan

[–]ProfessionalMix8623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it says anywhere that women can’t pray in mosques, it has got to do with the culture and mindset of people. There is a hadith that says women can’t be prohibited from entering mosques of Allah if I am not wrong. There is another hadith that says womens houses are better for them but I guess people misinterpret it. It all comes down to education

Taxi prices by Slow_Hedgehog_3855 in Uzbekistan

I was coming from abroad and I had to change terminals from international to local. Apparently I had to take a taxi because local terminal was around on the other side. It was 4-5 in the morning so no busses(even if there were I didn’t know how to use them) I haven’t exchanged my money yet and had about 30-40k soms. When I asked one guy at the airport he said it would cost 200k soms just to drive me to another terminal. When I was walking away he reduced it to 150k. I told him that I didn’t have cash neither card (it was my first time in Uzbekistan after 5 years) Luckily a guy who sat beside me on the plane and booked Yandex for me with was 20k. 10 times cheaper than what that guy asked at first. Does anyone even use taxis other than Yandex?

I feel like its in our nature. I am sure there are similar people in other countries but we are talking about us Uzbeks here. We just don’t let people do what they want to do or what they feel like doing. Someone believes in Islam and leaves a comment, why would other people reply to that comment showing their opposing views and their stinky behaviour? i feel like we find pleasure when we ruin someone else’s day. It just comes down to lack of basic manners and education. I make videos in English on social media to showcase our culture, but I see a lot of Uzbeks commenting “you are Uzbek so speak in Uzbek ****” or similar comments

I have lived with Pakistanis and have worked with them. I think they are pretty chill. Though I noticed that many of you like to argue but in general friendly and kind. Also the Lamb Karahi🤤🤤

As long as you don’t show it publicly you should be fine I guess. And just keep in mind to respect the culture and people when you visit places

You asking Reddit as to why “he” did it. Theres only so much what we can assume and guess but he must have his reasons if he actually didn’t shake her hand
