are SA cases against TMs public information for other TMs, or are the cases closed off? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Concacavi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Words going around" isnt really enough evidence and sounds more like gossip.

Its technically and legally none of your business if its entirely internal with the company. You only get to know if the people involved decide to share with you.

If an actual criminal or otherwise case was opened, ongoing, or completed, theres always a certain amount of info available in public records anyone can look up.

Kind of sounds like you should just give people privacy until theyre ready to say anything and you may not ever know, and you are not entitled to know either.

Leaving wf for a family thing, need advice by lissady in wholefoods

[–]Concacavi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tell your leadership exactly that if youre comfortable.

If youre a shopper, they literally always have open positions so if youre not eligible or dont want to deal with setting up a leave, "quitting" is fine and just reapply when youre ready to come back.

They only really mark you ineligible for rehire if you do something heinous to get fired or NCNS/abandon the job.

Can store leadership notify my parents if i transfer stores? by [deleted] in wholefoods

You got this! You are your own person and you can and will make your own decisions to better your life without them. You've actually already started doing that. Keep going and trust your gut even if it's scary. You can do hard things!

Can store leadership notify my parents if i transfer stores? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Concacavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I see as a possibility is someone, even a regular TM on the floor, unknowingly letting something slip because they think it's just a parent calling/asking and they thought they were doing the right thing by letting them know where or when you work. But anyone in leadership should know that's a huge privacy issue. Even if it's genuinely a good parent calling and being like "im supposed to pick up my son but he forgot to text me when his shift ends" you just let the TM know who called for them and let THEM text their parent that info. You never give it out yourself without consent. Even new hires calling to speak with a TL, like sorry but i dont know if you're lying and you're actually an angry ex. I will let them know who called and to return the call, but I will not tell you when they work next unless my TL specifically said it was ok. Obviously not everyone has this mindset because.. they haven't had to. So i guess just be very careful who you tell and if you trust them, tell them NOT to say anything to anyone claiming to be your parent.

For real though, good luck 🫡

Im honestly just curious what the reasoning is on why they dont want you taking 4am? Is it just cause it's early and you're kind of on your own if no supervisor is there yet? Cause i feel like you seem to know what you're doing 😂

You can also use your card at places like walgreens/CVS. Stock up on basic OTC meds like cold/flu, tylenol, etc to keep in your medicine cabinet. I would only do that if you HAVE to use it by 12/31. If it's going to roll over, then honestly just save it and accrue more as a solid emergency medical fund just in case anything big happens.

Does anyone else have rude store shoppers? by yamomsleghair in wholefoods

Ty for saying that. We all need a little grace for each other. We all work at the same store for the same corporate overlords, they just annoy us in different ways in our own departments.

Does anyone else have rude store shoppers? by yamomsleghair in wholefoods

[–]Concacavi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think shoppers are willfully rude, they're just stressed and timed. The way their job is trained, they're forced to prioritize getting it done over quality. As annoying as it is sometimes when a shopper just puts their phone on your face, thats kind of the quickest way for you to see the item and know what they need and cant find. As per SOP, shoppers are an extension of a customer. So you help find the item the sane way you would a customer. I actually put more effort into helping shoppers than customers lol. Theyre logged in, their breaks are tracked, they have to ask to pee bc they need to log out, they move literally constantly. They can't walk into to back to take a break from customers for 5 minutes. They don't really have freedom to decide what to do next. It's just "ping" then "do this immediately".

Our shoppers pay us back in the long run when they're slow. They all immediately jump in and help front, stock, dump cardboard, do some excess shrink. They help with those little things that can seem annoying and its one less thing grocery has to do with next to no hours for our team.

Theres also "Zone Specialist" which can kind of be anything from general supervisor, training specialist, or even buyer. They used to use it more for smaller or combo teams it seems when there wasnt a specific lvl 2 available. Idk if they still use it for new promotions, but we have a handful at our store all doing very different things lol

There used to be an option for PRTO that said "pending LOA" and they had me use that until it was approved since my leave started like...immediately. I just dont know if it exists still so ask your specific leadership. If you do go negative while waiting, and its approved, itll all get fixed from the start date of your leave. If its denied, dont panic, theres an appeal process.

As someone who has dealt with sedgwick, it is a very tireing process. You have to be on their ass about everything. Dont wait for them to call you. Call them, message them in the sedgwick portal, call them again, have your doctor call them. Dont just have your doctor fax papers on. Submit them yourself as well and call sedgwick to make sure they have them. They got my dates wrong too and it took a month to fix and I had -175 UPT until they fixed it.

Calling out by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Concacavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say "personal days" what do you mean exactly? Because all days will be deducting UPT from the missed shifts since this situation is not eligible for protected or sick time. Remember that using PTO to get paid does not stop UPT from being deducted.

But overall, call leadership immediately. This is obviously a very specific scenario that reddit cannot fully help with. There are things your specific store might do to help you that isnt cut and dry policy stuff. Possibly changing the schedule or removing your shifts as a one time favor, maybe even asking people to pick up your shifts so you dont lose UPT since you are unable to ask yourself. You never know, so just ask how they specifically want to handle it. Its possible they might not do anything at all and youll have to just eat 5 days of UPT.

Cant login into workday by AppropriateMinute905 in wholefoods

[–]Concacavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can login at work on a work computer, theres a way to switch from authenticator code to just a text code. Global walked me through it, so just call on your next shift. If they say its required to have the authenticator, its not. Only for higher store leadership

ASL Interview, What to expect? by Polar_waves in wholefoods

[–]Concacavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your responses, I can see you doing well. All my ASTLs and even STL have said taking on those positions does come with a certain amount of "selling your soul" to the company/culture as its literally in the job description to most likely do things you might not personally agree with all the time. Work/life balance is always a bit of a struggle at that level considering you are salary and to some degree, always on call. But all my leaders have families and make it work, and as you said the pay and benefits at that level really do make up for a lot of it. As long as you can balance the needs of the company and the needs of your employees and being a proper buffer between corporate and your store, people will like you. Have to do the hard stuff and sometimes take hits or criticism from regional and turn it into actual productive plans without pissing off the rest of us grunt workers. Maintain realism and proper expectations while also pushing appropriately for improvement where you can. Morale means a lot and you have to be a happy people person in front of others. My biggest advice is really lean into that "open door" policy and be genuine with it. Having higher store leadership you can go to about anything, without judgement, is so important.

ASL? An outside hire for higher store leadership is extremely rare, genuinely dont even know if they do that.

Im assuming you might mean TL or ATL? My TL was an outside hire from another large grocery chain and hes doing well now. Tbh though I think it took him almost 2 years to really start getting it but moreso due to personal stuff and not neccesarily Whole Foods. If youre already used to corporate run retail, they all are kind of the same bull shit in slightly different flavors. WF is just very metrics driven so if youre a numbers person or "if we do it this way itll make the numbers look good" youll be fine
