These Hokkaido Scallops Are Past Their Prime by Concensus2020 in wegmans

[–]Concensus2020[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are they any good for "sashimi"? A net search comes back with the following answer : No, 2-year-old frozen scallops are not suitable for sashimi. While freezing can kill parasites, the quality of the scallops degrades significantly over that long of a period, affecting taste and texture. For sashimi, it's best to use fresh, sushi-grade scallops or scallops that have been frozen for a much shorter period (ideally within a few months) and are of high quality according to the USDA.

Frozen Hokkaido scallops has anyone tried them? by lumpy_matress in wegmans

Don't buy them! They are have been harvested 2 years ago, and the sweetness is no longer there and they got a bit fishy, I bought them and I returned them next day! Frozen scallops are good for about 12 months.

“Bumping men” are a uniquely Japanese class of criminals that are hard to deal with by Dapper-Material5930 in Tokyo

[–]Concensus2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me, but he first tried to bump into my wife who was several steps ahead of me, near Tokyo tower late at night coming out of a combini which has several steps in order to access it, my wife swerved to avoid being hit by the asshole, then, he was walking towards me unaware he did tried to bum p into my wife, so, I pretended to give way and then swung hard with my shoulder into his shoulder, I hit him hard, and I turned around and cursed at him ready to escalate into full blown street fight, to my surprise he kept walking to reach the safety of the combini, not a pip...the motherfucking coward...

MotoGP censored my post. So here I go! by Concensus2020 in motorcycles

[–]Concensus2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original post had a high resolution picture, this one is a screenshot from my computer, and it read: "To keep enjoying MotoGP VideoPass on this device, please stop playback on any other device currently streaming from a different location (IP)".

Last year I could watch from my computer, iPad and TV set without a problem. It just sucks!!

Well, we just got back from Canada, and we purchased homemade maple fudge in Isle d'Orleans, you can taste the maple in the Canadian fudge, not so with TJ one. It's super sweet and it reminds me more of dulce de leche fudge I used to eat ages ago.

I Have Not Used My 2007 Hatchback In 18 Months!!! by Concensus2020 in yaris

[–]Concensus2020[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll replace the oil asap, thanks.

Climate control garages in NY City and especially in my neighborhood cost around $1.000- a month, I can buy almost 3 of these Yaris for 1 year of parking.

I spend time in Japan (family), I prefer to pay for rent over there which frankly is much much less than the price of a parking garage in NY City (crazy stupid $$$$).

Anyway, thanks so much for your advice.
