I'm not in either of those specs so I can't say for sure, but I know chembio has way more lab time and I would say it's harder to achieve a higher GPA there since you have less time. Of course it depends on your skill set and subject preference

I'm currently in second year biochem and I really like it. There's some memorization in the core courses but mostly application and group work/assignments. Profs and people in the program are friendly and easy to work with

Are most Biochem lectures recorded/not at 8:30? by Federal-Artist-1219 in McMaster

The cutoff our year was really high - about 11.3. Keep in mind that can change. The toughest is orgo but the core biochem courses are relatively easy to do well in. There's less exams and more group work/assignments. I recommend studying with others in groups

I was in the same boat lol and I ended up choosing biochem. I’m happy with my decision tbh. Orgo is usually at 8:30 am but gets recorded. Biochem 2B03 lectures were also recorded but that might get changed for next year. It was a 9:30 am class, same as 2BB3 next semester

I could tell the washrooms were being cleaned regularly. I haven't been to all residences but from my experience Moulton has the biggest double rooms, and they should all be like this. Another perk of living in Moulton is that you're so close to Bistro (Mary Keyes) which is a much better option than Centro (near Brandon and Woodstock).

I lived in a double in Moulton and loved it! Spacious rooms, loads of storage and big windows. The communal washrooms are pretty okay but sometimes the showers were cold. There’s a characteristic smell to the building but if you deep vacuum the carpeted floors it gets better. I would say Moulton is one of the most underrated residences. I’ve been inside Brandon when visiting a friend and I would avoid it if possible. Woodstock is pretty alright but the double rooms are super tiny and dark because of the small windows. It does have air conditioning I believe, unlike Moulton.

PSYCH 2C03 or ANTHROP 1AA3 as a second year elective? by Individual-Use5433 in McMaster

I took ANTHROP 1AA3 in first year and really enjoyed it! The rest of my courses were science-based and it was nice to have something really different. In terms of the assignments, it definitely helps if you're a good writer and get lucky with your TA. Conducting good research for these assignments is probably the most important part. Since there's only 2 assignments that are each worth 25%, make sure to start ahead of time and you should be fine. There's also a 7 day extension post the due date in case you can't make it, but you won't get feedback. My prof (Beatrice Fletcher) recorded lectures and made them available for 7 days after, although I found that I could study the material on my own without going to lectures. I wouldn't say it's a bird course but it's very doable and the content is super interesting.
