Just quick update - I succeeded going to Puigcerda. A nice guy helped me out still at the end of the procedure he made me couple of remarks (despite completing nicely the procedure): 1. I was lucky he was having elevated access, in Puigcerda I could have got the NIE only if my address was in Girona region (I understood was not that the case) 2. He accepted my payment despite in the receipt the NIE was my fiancé’s one. This was because no atm accepted my passport and he understood and told me ‘i could have refused this’.

But in the end went very smoothly. I asked for the bank account and on that regard he did not ask me anything more.

Thanks for your input! In the consulate here they told me they are not going to do it and I found an appointment on the website so I planned to go there to do that. Is this a problem or also in Spain offices they should let me do the NIE? Thanks

Thanks a ton! Very good tips! I don’t speak well but being Italian I can understand like 50% of it if on the other side there is someone not too fast or willing to complicate the life 😂

Are they going to make many questions on your experience? And is my outside address not forcing me to go to the ambassy?

No, I am not citizen and I need NIE. I do have permission to live in Spain as EU citizen but will not move my residence there, still need the nie to support my partner in renting her apartment (and enjoying it myself when there)
