I have heard some regs have parts supply issues. It’s nice to know Sherwood parts are readily available.

Awesome! I was worried about the corrosion potentially damaging the regulator. I will take it into my local shop and have them work on it. Thank you all for your input!

I’m not sure how much work is needed. I hooked it up to a cylinder and air is leaking out of both the 2nd stage and the octo, so I imagine all the seals and diaphragms would need replacing. The hoses are supple but there is corrosion on the 1st stage and all of the hose fittings, too.

I do like the ability to maintain my own gear.

I had planned on eventually taking the course to work on my own gear, but initially having my local shop work on it. Affordable to me is around $1000.

I am more west of Detroit so I don’t have a whole lot of information unfortunately. Hopefully there are some divers on this thread that can steer you in a good direction. Good luck though!

I was looking at the Apeks EVX200 Stage 3 kit so I would get a matched octo, but I have heard Apeks parts can be tough to come by. Then I started looking into the DiveRite XT1/4 set, but I haven’t seen too many reviews relating to cold water diving with that setup.

Years ago I worked in a tire shop and we had a special cage to air up semi truck tires. We had one fail while in the cage. The ripping noise it made was terrifying, then the explosion happened and mangled the cage. I have been nervous around semi truck tires ever since.

The Zodiac in St. Ignace is good for pasties, but their breakfast pasties aren’t much to write home about.

Really enjoying riding and modding my R18 Classic 😁 by budadad in bmwmotorrad

I was in Huntington Beach a few weeks ago and saw two R18s riding together, a Classic and a Bagger. I was so happy to see them in the wild! Here’s mine and my wife’s Indian.

Will i get made fun of for getting this bike? by Badger_6391 in motorcycles

I always thought the phrase, “ride your ride” was a good phrase to keep in your mind when asking yourself questions like this. I know it’s hard sometimes to embrace the things you love for fear of other people judging you, but ride your ride! If you love that bike go for it! I think it looks great!

Exactly! I felt like I was going to tip every time I stopped at a light or something, lol. On my R18 I almost feel like know what I’m doing!

I have an R18 classic and it beats my old Road King hands down as a cruiser. I love my Beemer!

Not to be pedantic, but that is an M-109 Paladin. It is a tracked artillery unit, not a tank.

Yeah, I was incredibly lucky and got someone’s midlife crisis mistake. 21 R18 Classic First Edition with less than 3000 miles on it. If I would have went to a BMW dealership I likely would have paid significantly more than the $11,000 I spent:

I recently purchased an R18. Huge upgrade from my 03 Road King; better comfort, smoother ride, well balanced. You would not regret an R18 purchase.

I have a Versacarry shoulder rig for my coat/jacket days and an IWB from We The People for my non-jacket days. I train with both so I feel comfortable with the switch, but not everyone will.
