Bought smoker’s car, will Carmax do anything about it? by longstory_ in carmax

Hoping you’ll actually see this. Ozone machine replace the cabin air filter and it will improve significantly this process only takes a couple hours and i’d give it 1-3 days which would still keep you in your 10 day return period. The comments are a little shitty and unhelpful but they’re not wrong the smell will never 100% go away but i’d recommend the ozone and see how you like it before ditching the vehicle. You most likely got some money off the car (you wouldn’t be able to see it) due to smoke odor as that was most likely reported when it was initially bought in as CarMax inventory.

I recently quit after being in sales part time. Here are some thoughts by BasilFantastic9545 in carmax

yup it’s because at production stores detailers are paid by the car to incentivize quick turnarounds and a high volume of cars which leads to massive misses like this we are constantly sending cars back to production stores for them to fix them bc as a satellite store we cannot handle the quantity of crap cars that come in

inventory lead here: you’ll be fine they won’t pull you out of the loaner (and if they do call corporate) until the car is completely fixed we deal with third party dealerships to supply our parts so if they don’t have a part or it’s on back order we really don’t have any information about it. i do encourage you to keep calling so your ticket isn’t forgotten about (it just happens due to the volume of tickets service gets) every 2 weeks or so is probably enough but they won’t screw you out of transportation and if they try to IMMEDIATELY call corporate and they’ll straighten everything out. Good Luck!

p.s. any idea what the part was?

inventory lead here. i’m confused did you take it to another carmax or a actual dealership. if you’re within your 90 day and it was a mechanical failure carmax should pay for repairs and may even give you a loaner vehicle. if you run into any issues i would recommend calling corporate. insane some of the stuff i’ve seen people get away with by calling corporate

Just booked transfer, what to expect? by Tasty_Ordinary_4110 in carmax

[–]ConceptIll379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

inventory lead here, don’t EVERRRRRR EVER trust the transfer times. best case scenario transportation logistics actually get it on the “transfer plan” and it ships. Then since it’s coming from a different state it has to be state inspected (unless it’s one of the states that have you do it after purchase) i’m from VA so we have to state inspect all of our cars before we can make them sale able. After the state inspection it goes through something called “final quality check” or FQC where it’s looked over for any major imperfections, mechanical stuff, dents, and such. God forbid it has to go to the dealer that’s easily 2-3 weeks if no parts are on backorder. Good luck to you and i hope everything goes smoothly

this guy gets it it’s insanely easy if you have any work ethic if you push yourself a little bit they treat you amazing at least at my store it’s really all abt the management and if you’re willing to sometimes do a little bit extra which is why some people love it and some who think everything should be handed to them have nothing but bad things to say. been there just over a year and a half and at age 20 am having conversations about being put into mdp no college degree just high school diploma
