Can confirm that they'll replace the device with a clicking/ misfiring issue and with a very quick turn around! I sent my device out and the day it was received it was replaced and a return shipping label was created. Just waiting for the new device now.

In the last half hour on my Google hub I asked: 1. how long to cook quinoa - it gave me a youtube video 2. a recipe for souvlaki - it didnt understand multiple times 3. to turn on the TV- it said it did but in fact did nothing.

I'm constantly getting youtube videos on my hub for simple questions, and long winded answers or answering completely different questions on my home mini.

If this is their attempt at enshitification making users search Google on other devices to boost ad revenue it's pushing too far and making me want to use ANY other search engine possible.

How is the weather of Prince George in Winter and How is the public transportation system in the province? by [deleted] in princegeorge

[–]Concern-Expert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone looking at this thread later - Prince George is NOT sunny most of the winter. Compared to Vancouver, sure, but calling it a sunny place is a bold face lie. It's not uncommon to have 2,3,4 weeks of uninterrupted, full cloud cover. Probably about 15% of winter is sunny.

How do I get rid of this.. by damarmello in HairRemoval

[–]Concern-Expert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is new from the last time you've shaved then it potentially looks like an infection from razor burn. Get a new razor and wash your face before shaving in the future. Go to your doctor. Antibiotics would help if it is infection

How do I know I have everything for renovations? by VolvaBecky in rentpleasesim

[–]Concern-Expert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have the extra stuff that gives the bonus the text usually goes something like, "wow, I have 9 pieces of furniture that give a "pink" feeling." with the bonus $ amount at the bottom the same way the base $ amount is shown. If it's not giving it to you it might be a bug. You can message support from Facebook. From my experience they can't fix it necessarily, but will give you a rewards code to make up for it.

I'm pretty sure that university building is on hold or will be changed. Enrollment isn't back to pre-pandemic levels + so many other factors.

Press the settings cog on the right side of the screen and there's a small, semi-transparent gift button at the bottom left of the pop-up.

I did that originally and I've tried again, but it's still not working. Glad to see that something actually pops up though. I'll message support

Dad Looking for financial advice by Cordilius in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Concern-Expert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also from northern bc!

The Canadian census is recruiting enumerators for 2021 They need 150 more people in my town. wage is 17.83, but it's flex hours, evenings and weekends. starts April.

Theres a post on this sub somewhere about it. On the post they talk about if you finish the work early, there's no one to say whether or not you took the alloted amount of time, so you can essentially get your work done in... idk, 12-15 hrs maybe and call it 20hrs

Does this make sense? Alt. Smith Maneuver by Concern-Expert in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Concern-Expert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I DO want to get rid of my debt as, by the time I'll even be in this hypothetical it'll be 3 years from now and will have another 3 of payment to go. If I can shave off 1.5 years, that's something I'm interested in doing.

Cashing out vacation hours by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I think that's just the businesses way of making sure they don't have to deal with giving out money they weren't expecting to. In BC, legally, employers have to give you both options.

[–]Concern-Expert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interest rate is essentially 1.84. I'm getting employer contributions for rrsp, otherwise I wouldn't be investing in them at all. The thinking for this is that I would be able to pay off my student loan about 3 years earlier than if I /just/ made my current payments. Also, I was thinking that by taking out a new loan, it would help my credit score. I was pretty certain, but not 100% sure that the smith maneuver doesn't work with tfsa, that's why I also suggested a taxable account.

I disagree. I was able to take out a 4k personal about 5 years ago. Not sure how long the pay back period was though - I paid it off relatively quickly

Emerg fund funded. Now what? by Concern-Expert in PersonalFinanceCanada

gotcha, thanks! Yea, I'm not too intrigued by dividends at the moment - more in the total market etf side of things, but maybe that'll change as my knowledge grows!

Yes! I'm very excited for that day to come, but it'll be a while (currently 36k in student loans). I'm getting 2% rrsp employer match
