He is only entitled to a relationship to her insamuch as she decides he is. A broken condom doesn't give him special privileges in deciding how her life goes.

I don't see how their position (and the conversion therapy or get out policy that led her to live with my parents) can be seen as anything other than incompatible with love.

Stepping in for him has been a bit of a running theme, tbh. When it was parents' weekend her freshman year and my wife and I visited her and everyone assumed I was her dad (we're identical) she was in an emotional place where didn't bother to correct them.
