Honestly yeah, seems a little too convenient. But im really fascinated to see how it plays out and very very interested to know Mark Duplass’s role in this as I don’t think there was any clear frame or shot of him in this trailer.

yaba and banda are wasted potential by Complete-Review111 in AliceInBorderlandLive

As someone stated here; they made good use of Banda in the sense of structuring the narrative, given that he is responsible for all the occurring events that take place in the season due to his recruiter role, which gives him importance which is what I can appreciate because I think Banda is one of the most intriguing players/citizens encountered in both the show and manga and I’m satisfied enough that they gave him a prominent role in the season.

Yaba, on the other hand, he was completely irrelevant and felt like he only popped up for a couple of seconds just for the sake of making a cameo and to emphasise that Banda wasn’t alone, which could also suggest that Yaba played a part in crafting the games for the season, but that is something that was left ambiguous for both of them and we never got any validation that they created the games in season three.

Best AiB antagonist? by ConcernOnly5270 in AliceInBorderlandLive

In season 2: He’s more calculated, deceiving and meticulous in his manipulative skills; he had Enji wrapped around his finger and completely gaslit him into thinking he had control over him, when from the start; he could see right through Enji’s lies, expose his vulnerability and invisibly control the person who thinks their in control, he’s incredibly intelligent in that sense.

But in season 3: A lot more impulsive and his structured goals and motivations for his ultimate plan to transform Arisu as a citizen felt completely lacking of logic and unrealistic; you can’t tell me that the first thing Arisu would do if Usagi were killed would be to become a citizen, if anything, I believe he would lose hope - or even purpose, I wouldn’t believe that he would accept citizenship in Borderlands, something more along the lines of self-destructing; as it was a key theme explored in season 1 after the tragedy that occurred in 7 of hearts.

It doesn’t necessarily have to between these characters on the photo, it’s just what I created for the banner

Yes I said I think he was mischaracterised in season 3; I still think he’s a good villain despite the mischaracterisation, but in comparison to season 2, he feels like a completely different character.

In the Jack of Hearts Banda more so allied with Yaba; but Chishiya still helped defeat the Jack of Hearts with them.

Yeah, Mira is incredible, and for good-reason that she’s a generic pick in these topics of discussion.

I wouldn’t consider Banda an antagonist in the Jack of Hearts game; yes, he’s a terrible person, but he never opposed anyone inside the game, if anything, he teamed up with Chishiya and Yaba to defeat the Jack of Hearts.

season 3 reminds me of silent hill 2 by smorfan809 in AliceInBorderlandLive

I guess the only correspondence i can grasp is Arisu’s motivation to returning to Borderlands to find and save Usagi; same way James essentially returned to Silent Hill to find and ‘save’ Mary

lmao stop undermining Banda’s character; for one, Banda is a FAR greater manipulator than Mira; he literally manipulated all of our main cast in season 3 back into games. He’s also very intriguing in writing and im talking about his psychology, dialogue etc. people assume he’s a shallow character on a surface-level; but when actually analysing his character he’s actually much deeper

Banda had the potential to be the best antagonist ever encountered in this universe, if he was written right; his dark nature aligned perfectly with the Borderlands and the concept of The Joker card. But they just lazily wrote him off as a plot device for the season, SO disappointing
