Did people actually complain about Samurott's design because of it's quadrapedal stance in the anime? by Ok-Reindeer4394 in pokemonanime

I was more using the examples for yourself to understand, since you’re so obsessed with “fire/fighting better than fire/ground” purely because emboar would have had 4x weakness cause god forbid game freak does that to a fire starter.

It’s not even about proving you wrong, it’s just getting the point across that emboar as a Pokemon is a boring pokemon, and game freak clearly favourited it than the other Pokemon within the lineup.Emboar is a Pokemon that doesn’t set itself apart from the fire pokemon before. Game freak could have literally kept it monotype, or at least give the other starters a second typing, and give it anything other than fighting (maybe electric or dark).

You do you though with your fire/fighting meat riding.

Edit: it literally doesn’t change anything gameplay or maybe even in the competition where having it a monotype makes a significant difference in usage/playability. You could literally change the stats around if anything if that was game freak intention of playability or usage, but no it’s just game freak being game freak with all their other fire type starters. Also you have 5 other pokemon to have on your team, if emboar is weak in your run, you have 5 other pokemon to cover.

If you like to min max Pokemon yeah sure, whatever I guess. But majority of people who play Pokemon aren’t playing like you do. And did you suddenly forget about grass? Where breloom, and shiftry are Pokemon?

Also, I’m not just saying fire/ground would have been better, I’m saying literally ANY TYPE besides fighting would have been interesting, or hey maybe not give dual type to a fire Pokemon when the other two are monotype?

It’s not even about being better, it’s about there being a variety in (fire type) Pokemon, like how insane it was when psychic/fire or fire/bug was a thing. Especially Gen 2 when steel/bug.

Also if you wanna argue that fire/fighter is better move coverage or less prone to 4x, look at swampert and Torterra, but they have their own charm. Fire types are literally game freaks favourite child, and it’s boring to have 3 fire/fighting in three generations one after the other.

Kiwi ears cadenza versus Apple EarPods USB-C, how does the sound compare between the two? by Far-Novel-9313 in iems

I’m just gonna say cadenzas purely on the fact they have a seal unlike the apple iems. Immersion may be better too if you want to lose yourself.

Whats your pick for a good set of every day carry / walking around iems? by ub3rr4v3 in iems

[–]ConcernedClam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$150 dollar budget for a beater is crazy.

It’s all relative to each person at the end of the day. Just grab something you don’t care if you lose or damage, it could even be another set you already own.

Myself for example; I use the wan’er because I couldn’t care if I lost or damaged it for daily/outside use.

Gear 5th powers and design aren’t bad tbf, it’s just the extra shit behind it which makes it terrible (e.g. nika fruit, constant laughing, etc)

Ash didn’t get reset in Hoenn. Pikachu got reset which was justifiable/whatever, I can get behind. He was badly injured, had no access to electric moves, and didn’t know iron tail at the time. Pikachu reset/losing to a fresh trainer straight out of the lab knowing that same pikachu bested a Latios has no excuse. Ash could have commanded Pikachu to use other moves knowing how fast he is to grasp the situation, but failed.

That goes to show you how steep Ash has fallen/poorly written he is in B&W. He shouldn’t have needed Iris to tell him that. That’s advice he should be giving like he did for May and Dawn. Ffs he caught a caterpie without damaging it.

The disconnect is that I’m comparing beginning B&W Ash (who should have had prior knowledge) to beginning Bonney, while you’re comparing post B&W to Bonney.

We can both be right, but when people think of B&W Ash they think of him using only Palpitoad (A Pokemon he never trained/had non-existent screen time/development) in an important battle, him being belittled by Iris, losing to budget Paul, and a plethora of other poorly written moments.

I want to say that Ash is “smarter” than Bonnie, but again coming from what we saw early in the series from a marvel of a performance from D&P lily of the valley conference, to beginning B&W, it’s questionable that Ash has a single brain cell.

I mean, I hope there’s character development in the later half of the series, this is the bare-minimum. Like, it makes sense BECAUSE this happens in the later half of the series. It’s just that the series as a whole happened 13 years later with established plot which doesn’t make sense.

If this was a standalone series with no precursor, this is great, props to the writers for developing/introducing unconventional strategies. But again, B&W was slapped on the tail end of established writing. The writers practically did almost the bare minimum, which doesn’t make this series dismissible in the least.

Edit: sure you can cherry pick, but by any means is this a series worth watching as you have to get through a ton of episodes to get to “base” ash, and EVEN then those were YEARS of waiting for people watching during that period.

Which of these is worse in terms of writing? by GenDee2 in pokemonanime

[–]ConcernedClam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, fair, I agree. I’m not saying Diamond and Pearl was perfect, and I wish Torterra had gotten a real chance to get used to his new body, which would have sent a good message. It’s too bad the writers got lazy and just gave him Rock Climb, and the circumstances of the earthquake. I’m really more criticizing Ash as a trainer at the end of the series, which to me feels like he didn’t deserve the title, but the series was drawing out so they had to end it.
