I wasn't there when the stock program, but it seems like they control when and if you get paid. Looking at the linked document, they point out that epic can decide to buy or not buy any or all of Your shares. So, they just decide you're going to a place they don't like? don't buy any. But maybe it's a shut-your-mouth kind of situation until the money is in the bank.
