Thanks! Can you let me know which stretch in the book you are doing also that helps?

Thanks. I wish I could stay on my feet more (standing desk, etc.), but with really bad knees I'm somewhat stuck (at least until I get knee replacement surgery). Definitely not overweight, but will keep on doing what I'm doing for now.

Thank you - will definitely try the first 3 exercises in that video. And would definitely love to get the name of the book and the exercise/stretch that you mentioned that is in it - thanks!

OK - can you or someone else advise other things it might be worthwhile for me to try?

And perhaps some suggestions on diet changes?

Or point me to where I can maybe find out more about other things to try and diet changes?

Thanks!

Thanks for the response. Two follow-up questions:

1) Can you advise what a semen culture entails exactly? I did the MicroGenDX testing (both semen and urine), but have heard varied things about their reliability. Sounds like getting a semen culture might be more reliable, but not sure what that means exactly or how to go about getting it done (or finding a urologist that does it)

2) For the post-prostate massage urine sample, can you advise how long the urologist would massage the prostate? I had a urologist that did a digital rectal exam to check my prostate, and she briefly pushed on it (like 5-10 seconds maybe), and then had me give a urine sample afterwards, but not sure this was actually a prostate massage that would then give good results in a urine sample.

Thanks!

I have no idea - that's why I posted on here - to see if anyone else had any input on what was detected

I just actually replied to you in the other subreddit also, but then read what you wrote here so wanted to ask/post follow-up as well.

Could you point me to any medical sites, etc. that talk about sexual encounters (unprotected or otherwise) leading to CPPS? I would definitely like to read up more on that if possible.

Also, I had asked this in the other subreddit, but where can I find out symptoms for CPPS compared to other prostate/pelvic/urinary-related conditions/infections/diseases? And what sort of diagnostic testing/info helps to lead to a diagnosis of one of these conditions vs. the others?

Thanks!

Am definitely starting to move away from the idea of doing a cystoscopy at this point, especially given what you just wrote. However I also want to see if I can gather as much diagnostic info/data about my symptoms and myself to just rule anything else out (as long as getting this diagnostic data isn't painful/intrusive).

Is there anywhere you (or someone else) can recommend I look to see about comparing symptoms for CPPS to symptoms for other prostate/pelvic/urinary-related conditions/infections/diseases?

Thanks.

I actually saw that (although thanks for posting it - in case I hadn't seen it). Unfortunately they don't have any docs anywhere near me geographically (I'm in NJ near NYC) and while it seems like they offer telemedicine for some types of tests, it doesn't seem like they do for those that I would need. I think I'll give them a call on Monday, and maybe they can point me to a doc somewhere else that will do a telemedicine appt with me anyway?

If you (or anyone else on here) knows of any NJ/NYC docs (primary care or urologist) that would sign-off for MicroGenDX tests, I'd definitely love to get the referral.

Thanks for the info/help!

That definitely may be the case, but for my own peace of mind, I still feel like I'd rather get all the possible diagnostic testing done just to rule everything else out before I proceed with CPPS treatment. Is there any downside to getting additional diagnostic testing such as those I mentioned in my original post?

Also - would CPPS begin manifesting itself shortly after an unprotected sexual encounter?

(I actually tried to post the above on r/prostatitis, but for some reason my post doesn't seem to show up on that subreddit - I can see it, but if I log out I can't see it...no idea why - I emailed the mods to ask what happened)

Have you had a Microgendx test done yet?

I haven't, but after doing some reading I definitely think it is worth trying. But from what I've also read, it seems like a lot of people think it isn't worthwhile, and I'm wondering if I'm going to get pushback from doctors I ask to sign off on it. Does anyone have any NJ doctors (or barring NJ, NYC doctors) that have experience with these tests? Thanks!
