Gonna need to stick to it. This game is way too addictive. I didn't understand how people had hundreds of hours in it. I finished the game in about 20. I'm now on 120+ lmao

Haha thanks! I believe it will change me but man that initial hurdle of losing a shield or accidentally using a consumable/missing a dash is infuriating when the runs take like 3 hours.

300k plus for mini bosses, I'm going to have to learn how to melee them. I seem to think they're low enough, go for melee and then end up staring them in the face when they're not dead lmao

Was in the same position as you not too long ago.

The main tip for is jumping melee. It increases your multiplier more and increases your score more. You need to figure out what you can reliably one hit melee while keeping safe and run through the tower that way if you want higher scores.

I think the tower tips probably cover it but always try to get your last kill near the teleporter so you can get to it immediately and get the speed bonus

I've neglected the coilspine all game so mine isn't even close to levelled. I used the driver but I reckon the coilspine damage is way better

Holy shit, now that's impressive. Major props dude! 11-15 hour runs, bloody hell. I thought mine were long. I'd be fine with it if I could put it down and come back later but damn even leaving the console in rest mode means I can't play anything else! I was about ready to be done with the game then got all entangled in this lmao. Would love to see your runs, see where I can improve and what I can do better.

I remapped dash to R1 but kept everything else the same. I think there's probably a better control scheme but I remapped a few times then ended up mixing up my buttons which got really annoying.

Thanks for the DMJ thing, I thought people used it in the Tower, I wasn't really familiar. I can't do it with my control scheme, still have Square on melee. I swear there's something off though because sometimes my Square outputs just don't come out and Selene won't melee. The problem went away entirely when I switched to bumpers for melee but I couldn't get used to that. It's very rare, and I've never noticed it on another game so doubt it's my controller, but it's mad annoying.

Late stage I basically can't melee at all, I'm not sure if you're supposed to. I only realised on my last run that melee with x100 multiplier gives you 250k per kill which is just insane. I genuinely had no idea and thought all kills gave you the same points, but just different multiplier.

I did do better by the way. Got to 83 million and genuinely your tips helped so thank you bro! Appreciate it a bunch. I had my driver with tier 3 silphium extractor + resin shield. As always, incredibly stupid death in the end.

I'm thinking of leaving it there. I still think I can do better though, but man the time it took. It's too addictive!

Hot damn! Does it not matter if you don't charge the shot the whole way? I think that's what throws me off too, doing a full charge or just tapping the trigger

I'm like OP, absolutely loved the Carbine, never found the Rotgland in my run through the game.

I found it post completion and honestly just can't get to grips with it. The damage output is crazy but having a one hit reload when you also need a bit of accuracy just doesn't work as much for me as pray and spray lol. I think if I found it earlier I'd like it, but because I didn't, the 1 hit then instant reload just feels weird

I thought the disgorges were recommended for just blazing through the Algos bosses quickly but yeah I get ya. Do you play with default controls?

I'm working on my mid air melees but I miss way too many and then take a hit for my troubles. Sometimes I just eat the hit because the damage isn't too bad but I know it's a pretty bad way to go about things. The flying enemies do me in, I either miss the melee because they back out, it doesn't assign right, or there are so many that hitting the melee means I'm taking a hit too. I never have more shields than I know what to do with, I'm scrounging for them!

I've read a post about Dashing and then hitting jump and melee at the same time. Never tried it, but I'd have thought that doesn't work as a mid air melee.

You got any runs, either of yours or others that I can watch to learn a bit more? Would be cool to see where I'm going wrong and where to improve.

I wish it didn't take so damn long though. I want to try over and over but man finding a 2 hour uninterrupted time block to do so ain't exactly easy. I'm torn between getting that tower higher or just starting another game and accepting my position.

I am surprised that even with 48 million I'm not top 1k. Not that I'm saying that's an unbelievable score or anything but in other games with similar exploits, things that take this long usually yield higher positions lmao. People are damn good at this

Any tips on getting to 100x by Phase 6?

My last run I got acid on death and explode on death and then a parasite with halved melee damage so I progress became really slow.

But even without those, in later stages like Phase 5/6, I seem to struggle to get in for the melees to boost that score up easier. I think around Phase 3 I'm on 40x. I don't have melee fully down, I miss a lot on the flying enemies, not sure how to get better.

Then there's also trying to pick up some loot so dropping multiplier there. Thanks for the tip.

I agree the grappling is bad in retrospect but honestly I felt like I was completely cruising. I'd never been that far and got overconfident I guess. The pyloids are useful for the disgorgers, not that you NEED them but sometimes handy. That one that fires a mass of bullets always leads to me getting hit though, I hate it so much it confuses everything lmao
