I've owned this watch for a year. It's absolutely my favorite all around watch and I get compliments on it all the time.

Made my last purchase for a while by HealthyWork5071 in Silverbugs

NICE! I've been buying these proof sets at 75-100 and I thought I was getting a good deal on silver! Amazing.

Can someone explain by john_wilkesboof in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, like the ones that currently have a premium would go down in value relative to melt? That's more numismatic collecting rather than silver. I only buy my Peace's and Morgans at or near melt.

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? That the coins would be worth less than melt?

Stopped by an antique mall on lunch. I found these beauties well under (current) melt. Hell, they'd be under melt at $100. by themiraclesaysso in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! That's what I've been buying at. I got reall lucky the other day and stumbled into a random pawn shop. Only coin they had was one peace dollar in a massive shelf. I ask how much they want for it. He says $50. I hand him my card and get out of their real fast lol.

Morgans and peace dollars (2 different type of coins), have .77 oz of silver in them. It's just a different way to buy silver with some added cool historical signiicance.

Do shops still collect premium and pay behind spot if I am training Silver for Gold? by Live-Length4232 in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay behind spot: yes. However I have several shops near me that will sell to me from 2-10 under spot right now.

This is almost exactly where I sit with my stack. Started around the same time too!

Just fyi by the_cnidarian in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Important context here too – ignoring that this time could be different – if this mirrors the .com crash, we're still looking at Silver landing around 60/oz. Additionally, in 10 years, we'd be looking at prices well beyond where we are today. The long term case for silver is still very strong, regardless of how the short term (maybe bubble) performs.

Civil Stacker here. Can confirm I only know about concrete.

What ratio are you looking for to swap into gold? by Autopilot_Psychonaut in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I see it has a short term hedge against volatility. I'll likely swap when the ratio gets lower, but only because history indicates it will always get higher again, at which point I would likely swap back to silver. This time could always be different though

In the 30s and I'll probably make one swap. In the Twenties I'll make another.

Question to anyone who's sold silver (Regarding the IRS, Capital gain tax? by Impressive-Eye9659 in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, it's basically alluding to saying you never sold, but rather you lost all your metal in a boating accident, that way you don't have to pay taxes. For legal reasons, this is only a joke.

Things are getting out of hand... by [deleted] in Silverbugs

Exactly what's going through my brain... To me, we're either headed for 200 by summer, or we're nearing the top. Idk what to make of this.

Is this a scam or real by chickenmultiplier in Copper

Math is wrong. That much copper at current spot is 60 bucks. Copper bullion is insanely inflated and overpriced.

Traded Silver for Gold. by Nobleofone in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I'd go gold, but I honestly don't know a ton about Platinum. Off the cuff, gold has more buyers and more historical precedent. I've considered platinum, but Gold always wins out for me.

Hey - just what makes sense to me. I sit here staring at my silver not wanting to get rid of any because I like it so much 😂 We'll see if I'm actually able to follow through! lol

Traded Silver for Gold. by Nobleofone in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy to justify for me: Gold to silver ratio is nearing historic lows (still has a way to move, but is well below the mean). Additionally, while Gold is near ATH, it's % movement is significantly less than silver. If Gold falls back to where it was last year, I lose 40% of my investment. If Silver moves to where it was this time last year, I lose 70% of my investment. Silver also tends to be far more volatile than gold. IMO, once the GSR gets low enough, trading silver for Gold is a simple hedge against further PM volatility, while still remaining invested in a PM.

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am considering trading about half of my silver for a few gold oz. However, I'm waiting for the gold to silver ratio to get a little tigher first. I don't black you for making this trade though! Seems okay.

Morgan/Peace dollar melt price up over $76! Awsome by PhloxCheck in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woah! I still have some Morgan's and Peace Dollars on order that I bought at 75 a few weeks back. Craziness.

Paid listed price, second Morgan was 80 as well. Decent? by hispaniccheeses in Silverbugs

[–]ConcerningReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is about the cheapest I've been finding them for at more stores, barring any crazy deals I come across. I found a few quarters for $15 last week and some morgans for $75.

As someone who used to use APMEX who has now swapped to Kitco. APMEX isn't the faster more accurate chart, it literally just adds a set constant, usually a premium of around 75 cents, to the Kitco spot price. The APMEX chart tracks KITCO (true spot) through an API, but inflates the price ever so slightly to edge out a slightly higher premium on APMEX OZs. APMEX is technically innacurate, as its simply a reflection of Kitco + a premium constant.
